I ordered the espresso preparation coffee and was sent the filter coffee preparation variety instead. Can I still use this in my espresso machine?

Hi the same thing happened to us...no don’t use it it clogged up my machine, if I hadn’t noticed it I think it would have broken it!

Should there be a plastic cap/lid because after opening via pull ring there isn't any means of securing tin other than putting into another container

Yes, in my experience it should have screw on lid, the same silver coloured metal as the tin. Just as shown on the site page.

Is this coffee for cafetières and a travel French press?

Can I use this coffee in the filter machine?

You can, but it's a very fine grind. You would be better advised to use the can with the filter machine picture bottom centre instead of this one which has the picture of an espresso cup. It's the same coffee, just a slightly coarser grind
