First the bad news: the fabric of this bra is unlike anything I've ever encountered on a bra. It's stiff, crinkly, and cheap-feeling, like a slightly thicker version of the stuff they make inexpensive Halloween costumes out of. The bra doesn't seem poorly or hastily put together; the seams look sturdy, there are no stray threads dangling and the hooks and eyes aren't askew, but I'd be really surprised if this is a legit Bali brand bra because the material just feels off. Also, the cups are freakishly roomy. I bought my usual size- a 34DD. But if you look at the pictures posted you'll see, in more than one instance, that that the wearer looks to have enough space to tuck in a small wad of kleenex right in front. This is very unusual for a minimizer bra because minimizing is generally accomplished by strategic smushing. This bra ends up creating a kind of conical bust shape that I thought was going to give me a horribly retro "bullet bra" look under a tight-fitting shirt. Imagine my surprise, then, when I debuted this bra under my most form-fitting cotton top to discover that, wow, I looked fabulous! Not only did I look like I'd gone down at least a cup size, but the shaping and lift was spectacular, like I'd lost weight, achieved perfect posture and de-aged 10 years all at once. And the straps! I don't know what other bra manufacturers are thinking when they put skinny little straps on minimizer bras. If we need minimizing, it naturally follows that we need thicker and more comfortable shoulder infrastructure! This bra's straps are thick, padded, and stay in place. Nothing else about this bra is super comfortable, because it's a little scratchy and has no give, but I'll trade looks and function over comfort any day. As we go into year two of no department store dressing rooms due to Covid, bra-buying continues to be dicey. My last minimizer bra purchase actually made me look even BIGGER. So stumbling upon this bra was a real windfall. I immediately bought two more just in case they stop making them.

I've been wearing this Bali style for the last 12 years. It's the only style I've been truly happy with since! Yes, I've tried other styles, but they always lack either in support and lift or shape. And that's where this one shines! Support, lift, and shape. Just a few thoughts on things that have come up in the reviews: 1) Straps too short: I have not noticed this personally. In fact, I tend to tighten them up as far as possible, which is not very far. So there is probably room for improvement in the adjustability of the straps. 2) Band too tight: I feel this is a feature, not a bug. The support of a bra comes from band. Yes, the band does feel tight the first few wearings (I admit it leaves red marks at first), but it loosens up pretty quickly with wear. 3) Cups don't stretch: Non-stretch cups are key to support and shape for a large bust. Again, I see this as a feature, not a bug! It is so hard to find a bra with non-stretch cups, and whenever I give in and buy one with any stretch at all, I find I look dowdy in clothes. 4) Cup seams wrinkle and show through clothes: This tends to be true when the bra is new. After a washing or two the wrinkles go away. 5) Fabric is not soft: Again this is true before a few washings. 6) Bullet or cone shape: This bra can look somewhat cone shaped at first, but again, after a few washings that shape softens to just a very nice-under-clothes youthful look. The fabric really does soften up with wearing. 7) Center underwires poke forward: A bit annoying, but I found with a large enough cup size, this is actually minimal. But I bend those wires back toward my breastbone into a curved shape and--presto--they no longer show! Pro: Great support and lift. The price is reasonable. Cons: I wish they had more large cup/smallish band sizes (for instance there's no 34G), and more colors in the larger sizes. The G cup sizes have only 3 rows of hooks, while all the D, DD, and DDD cup sizes have 4 rows of hooks! It makes no sense. And I notice that since I've gone up to a G, the support does suffer with the fewer hooks.
