The Worst Witch Collection 7 Books Set Jill Murphy Pack

Gave these to my granddaughter for her 7th birthday knowing she will love them. Her mum is also excited to be able to read them again and bring back her childhood memories.

This was a great bargain and the books have a queue of people waiting to read them, purchased for my grandaughter as an early Christmas present to go with the stage performance was a WOW! Her mum enjoyed reading them as did her aunty so a tradition is being kept alive. The whole story of Mildred Hubble in a beautiful slip case is essential for any titchy witch. highly recommend, delivery was very quick as well

I read these as a child and remembered enjoying them, so bought them for my 5 year old. I probably would have waited until she was older but the fact the BBC were making them into a TV programme prompted me into buying them earlier. I wanted my daughter to use her imagination before she saw the TV interpretation. As it happens we only got through two of them before the TV show started so now we are reading them at the same time. The order of events varies a bit (TV vs the book) but it is educational to see how things are adapted to make a TV programme. My daughter thoroughly enjoys these books and they are well targeted at her age group. Each book varies in length, with the shortest ones manageable in one bed time read. We will definitely be reading all the others. They are also quite frequent illustrations (every page or two) so are a good transition from picture books. Would recommend.

My daughter had one of books already and asked if I would get the first one for her, the box set was excellent value, my daughter has read the first book and really enjoyed, and has now started the second. They must be good books to have got my daughters imagination to read them.

Great value set of books , bought for my niece who I am sure will love them. Deducted a star for the ridiculously excessive packaging they arrived in.

A really excellent series for kids. I remember it well from my youth. My daughter loves the books and they are helping to develop her reading!!!

I am so pleased to have this set for my daughter! I loved the Worst Witch books when I was a kid and had already bought the first one to read to her. I was excited to find the whole set for such a great price and we're really enjoying reading them. Also watched the series, which is good, and different from the books. Will also be buying the last in the series now it's available.

This book is a must have. If you tend to explore the fascinating world of worst witch go for it 🪄🪄🪄🪄

Siamo abituati a pensare che i libri per bambini siano semplici, a volte persino stupidi, ma non è così. D’altra parte, aprendo un volume come può essere uno di “The Worst Witch”, chiunque potrebbe credere di trovarsi davanti a una qualche storiella frivola e banale, adatta per l’appunto al pubblico a cui si dice essere rivolta: quello dei più piccoli. Ebbene, facendo così sbaglieremmo in partenza, cari miei. Siamo in errore quando pensiamo che i libri per bambini siano storie senza un reale senso, che siano tutte favolette; erriamo nello smettere di vedere in questi volumetti un qualcosa di più, di divertente e simpatico, un qualcosa che ancora può insegnarci. Personalmente mi sono divertita tantissimo a leggere di Mildred Hubble, protagonista di questi volumetti, e delle sue amiche, dell’Accademia per Streghe di Miss Cackle e del corpo insegnanti che la presiede. Non mi vergogno per nulla a dire di aver comprato questo cofanetto per me, che non sono più una bambina, e di aver apprezzato assai la lettura di questi libri che sì, sono semplici, eppure alla fine della loro lettura mi hanno lasciato qualcosa. Ho riso, sono rimasta col fiato sospeso, mi sono emozionata. E sì, questo è accaduto non grazie a qualche moderno volume di mille pagine il cui titolo è stato sbattuto in ogni dove per convincere il pubblico ad acquistarlo, che è stato esaltato tanto da lasciare i lettori con l’amaro in bocca se il contenuto non era davvero così come veniva decantato, bensì con sette volumetti pensati per dei mini-lettori. Forse ho dei problemi io… O forse no. Comunque sia, per quanto riguarda le illustrazioni dei volumi devo dire che sono simpatiche nella loro semplicità, divertenti, ben fatte. Adoro ufficialmente lo stile poco pretenzioso e tradizionale di Jill Murphy, che purtroppo ancora non conoscevo né come scrittrice, né come illustratrice; posso affermare con sicurezza che cercherò, quindi, di recuperare altri suoi lavori per confrontarli con “The Worst Witch” e, nel caso venissero pubblicati seguiti di questa saga – se così si può chiamare –, li comprerò a occhi chiusi. NOTA: Nelle foto, come potete ben vedere, il cofanetto è leggermente rovinato ai lati. Non è colpa di chi me l'ha venduto, ovviamente, ma dell'incuranza che hanno i corrieri a manovrare i pacchi.

Excellent condition. Slip was in great shape too. Daughter was delighted to get the full collection. Price was amazing too.
