Thank God for this thing...
I was dealing with nasty external ear infection caused by impacted wax which became waterlogged after two separate doctors tried to remove it. By my second appointment, the combination of pain and vertigo caused me to break out in a cold sweat and eventually get knocked out cold for a few moments. (For the record, I have a pretty high threshold of pain, but my ear canals are hyper sensitive for some reason.) The after effects of this were about 4-5 days of what I can only classify as excruciating pain and laying on heating pads. Needless to say I have tried EVERY OTC remedy and absolutely dreaded going back to the doctor. I tried pouring hydrogen peroxide and the softening drops in my ear, but the build-up was so sense that nothing could penetrate the "wall." The Debrox and other systems have a small bulb style syringe which doesn't cut it for deep impacted wax. It's pretty worthless for the tough cases. I also picked up a more true syringe style with a 3-directional sprayer (very similar to this one) which got comparable "stars" on Amazon, but the volume of water sprayed by it just wasn't enough. Oddly enough, the syringe on this one looks and feels somewhat cheap, and takes longer than one would hope to fill up since the accordion style design sucks up water pretty slowly. That's where the downside of the kit ends. The 3-directional sprayer prevents water from painfully striking the eardrum (eliminating the risk of perforation), and the VOLUME of water which it sprays is perfect and enough to flush out disgusting chunks of grossness from your ear. I was at my wits end until I found this kit, and slowly yet surely, over the course of 3-4 days, the progress has been awesome. This kit has managed to remove enough wax so that the hydrogen peroxide and softeners are beginning to penetrate deep into my canal and beginning the process of breaking apart the innermost layers of the awful build up. At this point, I feel like I'm only 2-3 days of putting this nightmare behind me. I'd give this six stars if I could. The price/value comparison here is unparalleled and totally worth every penny. Total life saver.

Helpful but Can Be Messy
The Mack's ProRinse Ear Wax Removal System comes with everything you need for ear care, including ear drops, plugs, and a wash tub. The ear drops are effective at softening wax, making it easier to clean your ears. However, I found the process to be a bit messy, and the wash tub could be more user-friendly to avoid spills. While it does help with earwax buildup, you may need to repeat the process a few times for optimal results. Overall, it's a decent option for ear wax removal, but be prepared for some cleanup afterward!

Good home remedy for mild blockage. But go see a doctor if you've not cleaned your ear ever.
**Bottom line: This is a very good product, good quality silicone nozzle and ear plugs, if your blockage is mild. **Warning: If your last cleaning was at least a decade ago and you've been using cotton swabs the whole time, you're better off go straight to the doctor and *demand* a professional cleaning. Using this product might further block your ear canal before any relief. My bf realized that he was not hearing as well in the right ear, and the doctor recommended using pharmacy otc solutions like this first, before seeking further help. After reading up the reviews on Amazon, I bought this product, thinking the all-inclusive package should work. He was not itching or hurting before using the ear drop. and the first night he didn't complain much, just that he didn't notice anything other than the drop oil inside his ear. The next a few days were anxious waiting for him to feel better, but his ear just got a whole lot irritated - it's blocked and it hurts. He constantly complained that he felt like he had water blocking his ear and just wished that he could stick a tiny vacuum inside for some relief. It was horrifying as we can't make a doctor appointment during the weekend and his ear canal looked very red and oozed. The flushing bottle could barely flush anything out. It was very frustrating to say the least. On day 3, in a desperate attempt, he carefully stuck our waterpik in there on the lowest setting... and after a couple of rinses, along with little bits of ooze here and there, a HUGE chunk came out. We thought that was it, but after I looked inside, it still appeared completely sealed. On day 4, we kept on doing the ear drop, tried the waterpik method again. Then another huge chunk came out. Next day, same story. he and I are both amazed at how much ear wax can be stuck in there... After we flushed the THIRD huge piece out, I could finally see the empty and dark ear canal that one should look like, and he finally stopped feeling that he got water in his ear... We would definitely recommend using this for seasonal "maintenance", but not for a quick fix of a serious condition. We were just lucky that our waterpik worked out, as the water stream can potentially hurt the ear canal. P.S. I didn't have any difficulty filling the flushing bottle up. Just take the nozzle off, fill the tank with warm water, squeeze the flushing bottle to the smallest possible, submerge the opening inside the water, then release. it'll suction and fill the bottle up by itself.

Back to hearing in stereo!
This is easily the most satisfying thing I've bought on Amazon. I have chronic wax buildup that I usually have to get syringed out once a year or so. It doesn't help that I sleep with earplugs every day. And when it's blocked it's bad -- like how-in-the-blazing-heck-did this-fit-into-the-ear-canal-kind of bad. Within 2 days of a major miserable blockage I was back to hearing stereo. By day 3, more things had fallen out of my ear than at any doctor's office. It was like one of those clowns in a tiny car tricks -- it just kept coming. I used the drops twice a day as directed, but I also used the syringe every evening (because I am an impatient cat and when something blocks your hearing you want it out YESTERDAY). The syringe works very gently but very well. Filling it up takes 3 seconds if you do it properly, ie submerge the whole thing in water and let the air out first. You need to be patient with it and use warm water otherwise it will make you dizzy. The drops are my favorite part -- they tickle and pop in a very satisfying way. Apparently the drops are for a single use, and lose potency after they've been open for a few days so keep that in mind. I did both ears at the same time because I didn't want to order another bottle in a few months. The only minor issue is the little tub is completely flimsy and broke instantly. But one can easily scrounge up a clean container in one's kitchen of an appropriate size. The syringe is perfect and can take a good beating. Have fun!

messy but effective
Because of my noisy upstairs neighbors I've been sleeping with earplugs, which have had the unfortunate side-effect of causing earwax to become compacted against my eardrum, resulting in impaired hearing and an uncomfortable feeling of fullness of my ear canal. I had this same problem many years before, and, after unsuccessfully trying an OTC remedy, I had to see a doctor, who flushed my ear repeatedly with a big metal syringe full of cold (!!!) water to finally loosen the cerumen. I didn't want to go through that ordeal again, so I decided to try Macks. At first I was dismayed because, after I inserted the drops, let them sit for a while, and then flushed my ear with the syringe, the liquid refused to come back out, so my ear felt acutely swampy, and I could barely hear out of it. In desperation, I tried pouring rubbing alcohol into my ear to try to evaporate the water, but that just added to the swampiness (and it stung a bit). The next day, my ear was still resolutely moisture-filled, so I figured I might as well have another go at it--and it worked. After allowing the drops to sit in my ear for about 15 minutes, I hosed it down repeatedly with the syringe and was amazed to feel the built-up material exiting my ear canal, at last. So the moral is, be patient. You may not experience instant relief, but eventually the stuff will soften your earwax enough that you can flush it out. One tip: make sure that the water you flush with is warm (slightly above body temperature is good). Shooting cold water into your ear can actually cause you to faint. Also, you'll need to jam the syringe into your ear as far as it will go, and don't let up on the spray until you've injected the full load. In my experience, the ear plugs that come with the kit don't really hold in the drops very well, as I jammed them in as far as I could, to the point of pain, but the drops still leaked out freely when I attempted to stand up.

Doesn't Work
I don't know what everyone is raving about but this thing doesnt work very well. The wax foam thing might be the only thing working half way. the Spritzer (or whatever this thing is) is horrible to use. I can't get water in it (takes me 20 minutes to fill it up) and when I rinse out my ears it cleans nothing and just sprays water in my ears. Afterwards my ears keep popping and closing and I have to constantly try to pop them to open them. These things are better left for professionals with professional tools... Getting a refund!!

Does its job in minutes!
I suffer from an unfortunate propensity to accumulate lots of wax in my ears every few months. I have used several products to clean my ears but all previous ones left a lot to be desired. One even punctured my ear drum :-(. After that episode, I had been going to my family doctor to have it cleaned. But it costs money and more importantly a lot of time. I bought this product after careful review of several others. I was surprised that it was so inexpensive while still including ear plugs, a good and safe syringe, a container to hold water, and the wax remover liquid. It was also available with free shipping via Prime membership. I followed the instructions and left the drops in my ear for a few minutes and then I rinsed my ears. Within two or three times of flushing out my ear, it was clean and I could hear again :-) The syringe is well made and works as described. Because the water comes out from the sides, there is no danger to the ear drum. I was not sure how far into the ear canal to push the ear plugs and I just pushed them in a bit, but they worked fine and held the liquid inside. I am relieved that I can now clean my ears when I want without having to visit my doc and paying the co pay and what not.

I'm sure it works for some people, just not for me
On one hand, the product seems to be decent in quality and I could definitely feel the foaming action as described on the box. However after using the product for 4 days it made absolutely no difference in clearing my ears. The product caused complete blockage when used so I could hardly hear and this lasted for around 3 hours each time I used the drops. After the treatment stopped I actually think my ears are more blocked than they were before and my hearing has been slightly reduced. Whilst I'm sure this is only temporary due to earwax being moved, I was disappointed the product didn't help at all.
