Prep Solutions by Progressive Lettuce Keeper Produce Storage Container, 4.7 Quarts, Green (LKS-06)

I bought this lettuce keeper back in 2014, and I’m amazed at how well it has held up after all these years—it still works perfectly. This container truly does what it promises: it keeps my lettuce crisp and fresh for over a week, sometimes even longer. No more slimy greens after just a couple of days! I love the simple design—easy to wash, sturdy, and it fits nicely in the fridge. It’s also versatile; I’ve used it for spinach, herbs, and other produce with the same great results. The adjustable vent system really makes a difference in prolonging freshness. After a decade of regular use, I can confidently say this is one of the best kitchen purchases I’ve ever made. If you’re tired of tossing wilted lettuce, this container is 100% worth it.

Was everything it was described to be. Keeps lettuce fresh longer than anything I’ve tried. Doesn’t leak and seals tightly.

I use a Zojirushi bread machine to bake fresh bread every week. I wanted a bread keeper that would accommodate 2-lb bread loaves. This one works very well for that purpose, and the bread stays fresh all week (I have had loaves hold up 2 or more weeks with no signs of mold). I was skeptical about the little air vent, but it really does work to keep the bread from molding. I also like the fact that the size of the bread keeper can be adjusted to fit the size of the bread loaf. There are small feet on the bottom of the bread keeper that keep it from sliding around on the counter. The only criticisms I have about this bread keeper are minor. The two sections fit together rather loosely, so you have to be careful when lifting it up or moving it so the two sections don't fall apart. The included plastic cutting board is pretty small and not very useful. I usually take the bread out and cut it on a larger, wooden cutting board. The circular vent is attached very loosely. Consequently, any movement of the bread keeper will usually cause the vent setting to change making it necessary to frequently adjust it. The bread keeper would be much better if the vent fit more snugly. Overall, I'm very happy with this bread keeper and plan to buy another so I can bake extra loaves of bread. It works very well for those using bread machines to make fresh bread at home and would work quite well for store-bought bread, too.

This has already paid for itself in the 3 months we’ve been using it. We stopped buying the large packages of prepared lettuce at the grocery store which is $5-6 and started buying a large head of lettuce each week for $2 (which is way more lettuce). We just cut up and wash the entire head at the beginning of the week and store the leaves in this container and they stay fresh and crisp for over a week. It fits about 1 large head of lettuce. The container takes up the same amount of space as the large lettuce containers from the grocery store.

I read the reviews and have to admit this works wonderfully. I have used it for months and the lettuce lasts much longer than it use it and stays crisp as the day I bought it.

Frankly the Rubbermaid product is a much better quality product and will do a good job of "lettuce keeping" as well. Rubbermaid 7J93 Produce Saver Square 8-Piece Set Food Storage Containers The Rubbermaid also seems to withstand dishwasher cleaning much better, with no deterioration. As noted the plastic lids for this item will tend to warp even in the top rack of the dishwasher as they are very soft. I would suggest getting used to the following ritual if you want to add water to the bottom. - Put in a little bit of water in the bottom. - Tilt the Lettuce Keeper to one side, then the other. - If it leaks, the seal on the bottom is not fastened tight. - Put the keeper on a flat surface and push down, to try to get the bottom to fasten correctly. - Repeat the tilting motion again. - Expect to spill a bit of water until you have a tight seal, so have a dish cloth or towel nearby or tilt it over the sink. - Repeat until no water leaks out and then hope that you don't jostle it loose on the way to the fridge after you have it filled. Just a bit much of a headache to deal with. The oblong shape does allow for storing heads of leaf lettuce, but if they are very full heads, you'll still have to trim some of the leaves from the core anyway. One advantage with this item is that there is a listing on the front plastic that tries to tell you for different types of produce to use with "vent open" or "vent closed"; "with water" or "without" I'm not impressed by this product. The quality of the plastic is quite inferior compared to the Rubbermaid product line, and it shows. Update: After less than two years of usage the plastic top is beginning to come apart where the vertical lip of the product meets the horizontal edge. Looks like the plastic is just giving out from stress of being "snap-fit" to the top of the keeper. So after what has been pretty much occasional usage, most of the time being stored in the fridge when used, the product is already beginning to break down. While the product works and keeps lettuce fresh, I certainly didn't expect the plastic to start deteriorating in less than two years... The ONE advantage this has over the Rubbermaid is the shape. Lettuce such as Red or Green Leaf-Style Lettuce is much more of an oblong or oval shape. The Rubbermaid is more square shaped. So those varieties of lettuce fit much better in this keeper. For that reason and that reason only I am ordering another one. However this time I will wash it by hand as washing it in the dishwasher seemed to deteriorate both the plastic top and bottom lids. So I am giving it another try, hand washing only and we will see what happens... This is my second one in two years, so I'm not expecting the kind of longevity I get from Rubbermaid products. Too bad...

This lettuce keeper works perfectly for storing greens and other produce. It keeps everything crisp for days longer than regular containers, and the adjustable vent helps control moisture. Brilliant. Keeps my loaf in the fridge from drying out once open and the bread keeps for ages.

I love this lettuce keeper oh so much. The lid and base are softer plastic so it feels durable enough as long as you arent knocking the clear part against things itll last a long time. It comes with a very easy to read guide, with a reference on the front of the keeper. It can be used for any fruit or veg that typically goes in the fridge. Also has a divider if you need to separate say spinach from lettuce, that can be removed & stored inside the lid where it can clip on. The base is great for rinsing as well. Great design, highly recommend. My lettuce usually only lasts 6 days ish in the veg drawer so I already know this will improve the life but also give me more space for fresh fruits & veg in my smaller fridge.
