Nevertheless they seem to hold up well so far. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Mixed feelings *by P***Y on April 17, 2023* I have mixed feelings about these sockets. This is my second set of Grey Pneumatics. I also own Tekton, Nieko, Pittsburgh and some random (not s full set) of Craftsman. They all work. None have given me any issues. The Greys are better for two reasons. First, the socket size is laser printed AND stamped. Second, and this is the big one, the case is superior. If I get a case that actually works in my life, I've found that I'm FAR less likely to lose sockets. So a case that works is actually worth extra money to me. Why is the Grey Pneumatic case better than ANY other case I've ever seen? Because gray pneumatic has custom designed these blow molded cases to be as space-efficient as possible. They take up no more room than necessary. That is in great contrast to most other companies who are only able to modify the inside of a blow case which has a predetermined outside diameter (translation = wasted space). Grey Pneumatics has a more robust closure system and "hinge" system, if you will, which means that the case will last a very very long time before cracking and breaking due to fatigue in the plastic. So these fit very well in tool drawers, you can pop off the lids and have them sit open, or you can close them. They also fit well into a bags if you have to grab a set and take it on the go to a parts yard or something. These cases just work. And I absolutely am willing to pay more for them. So what are the downsides? Well, there are two. First, although the cases are extremely wonderful, the premium you have to pay to get them may not be worth it. Are you getting a higher quality socket for that premium, in addition to a better case? Possibly. But the problem is that I've never really broke or worn out any of my impact sockets, regardless of the brand. So if there is a premium quality to gray pneumatic is not one that manifests itself in real use. Second, if you buy gray pneumatic, you basically don't get any warranty. So you are paying a higher price for a higher quality product with a garbage or non-existent warranty. This is in contrast to Tekton, and even the very affordable Pittsburgh brand. If you break a Tekton or a Pittsburgh, they just replace it, no questions asked (something I learned from both companies with other tools I've purchased). Tekton will even do this via email by asking you to provide pictures electronically. This is Tekton's way of trying to compete with the speed of tool trucks. And Pittsburgh are sold in enough brick and mortar Harbor Freight stores that the returns become equally as easy. But the supposedly "higher quality" Grey Pneumatic, with its much higher price point, offers you NO warranty. Okay, sure, if you look up there information on the gray pneumatic website, you will find that they do offer a warranty. But only if you buy it from an authorized gray pneumatic dealer. And there aren't very many of those. And Amazon is certainly not one. Is this a big deal...having no warranty? Probably not. Like I said, I've never had any of these fail. So maybe the point is moot. But I scratch my head, wondering how Tekton and Pittsburgh can so easily accommodate a warranty, regardless of where you buy it, as long as it says their brand name appears on the tool.
