This is a quick disconnect fitting to hose barb. Therefore it will attach to flexible tubing on the hose barb side and another mating quick disconnect fitting on the adapter side.

Can no longer "quick" connect after about 20 disconnect/connect cycles. Must use plyers to get it apart. Any ideas?

What does 3/8" flow size, 1/2" id mean? which is it, 3/8 or 1/2?

The 1/2" ID indicates the hose barb size which accepts soft tubing with a 1/2" tubing inner diameter. The flow size indicates the diameter of the inner flow path and the mating side of the connector must have the same flow path size for them to connect properly.

going to use white silicone tubing with these. which hose clamp is recommended?

I picked up a couple from a Home Brewing supply store, that have worked perfectly. Don’t recall the exact size, but I just took the pieces to the store and they had a perfect fit. The have thumb screws, so easy on, easy off.
