Can this pump be used for continuous duty like 1 or 2 hours?

I use mine to pump out rain water from my in ground pool when it begins to overflow the top of the safety cover in winter.  I usually run it for 18 to 24 hours at a time to drop my pool level down to an appropriate level. I usually have to to this about 4 or 5 times each winter. I am on year 4 and no issues.  Just protect it from sun and rain.  Update:  As Muphy's Law would dictate, my pump died 2 weeks after answering this question.  But I got 4 years out of it and I'm buying another.  It held up pretty well for the amount of work it did.

How much lift does this pump have (how many feet up a vertical pipe can it pump)?

At most 20 ft. You are better off placing the pump 10 ft above the source and then running another section of hose/pipe to get the remaining height/elevation you are trying to reach

Why is there two hose connectors, is one for draining an aquarium and the other fow water circulation?

We used the pump to pump rainwater out of a hole in the basement floor that had been put their for the purpose of installing a sump pump....the sump pump was never installed and when we got huge amounts of rain water would well up in that hole.....rather than wait to see if it would spill out into our basement we used the pump to pump it out.  One of the valves is an intake valve where we attached a short hose to suck up the water.....the other valve was used to attach a garden house which we ran out into the yard.  So one valve is intake and the other valve is discharge.

It’s marked on the pump.  The base is where water flows in and it flows out through the hose.
