Awesome knife, worth every penny.
Beautiful, lightweight, ergonomic... Heck, the endorsement says it all. Doug wouldn't put his name on a product that wasn't reliable, sturdy, and... Sharp! "It will kheeeeel" Doug, love ya buddy.

Wonderful for what it is meant to do
Before anything else, I have massive hands and this fits me. 9 inch hands, I can palm a basketball, need 2xl gloves. My daughters hands are little and she can operate this knife as well as I can. This knife is not the knife you are using to open boxes. It's not meant to go out and do your daily work. This is a self defense knife. It is created by Doug Marcaida, not by Buck or Old Timer. This is meant for fighting not anything else. You can use it for what you please, but this was designed for a specific purpose. That's what I think is bringing this guy down on Amazon. I personally put the clip on the opposite side as it came on. The clip is on the fox logo side not the signature side for me. I can draw it using my pinkie finger in the ring in a slightly backward motion which puts the weapon in a slashing position for handling out of my pocket rather than a stabbing position. I was trained in slashing and not stabbing, slashing can create more damage and allows more combat potential for defense rather than the stabbing position. These positions I speak of are if you put a closed fist around the weapon is the blade pointing in the same direction as your thumb or not. I would get trained on using this style of knife before deciding this is for you and complaining because it isn't your style. Remember what it is for. And what it is meant to do it will do so well. Balanced. Light, comfortable.

Great design for one-handed opening.
This knife probably seems very expensive (although the current price on Amazon of ~$175 is way cheaper than on the Fox website as of the time I am writing this), but there are reasons for the cost. First is that it's imported from Italy. It was also specifically designed by Doug Marcaida and Lad Mandiola to be used in a very specific way. I won't go into those details here, you can look them up. I have many other knives, including expensive "out the front" spring loaded knives. But I really like the simplicity of this one-handed design. Basically, if you are right-handed, you put your index finger through the hole, while the knife is on your body. You pull it up, out of your pocket/pants so that the hook on the back of the knife catches your pants/clothing and it will flip the knife open. You close your hand around it and then it's in the proper orientation for use. Be sure to get some formal training on how to use this...

Good knife
I love it, easily deploy when grabbing out of pocket (with a slight turn to the right), great quality and sharp. Give me a reason to pull it out and itโs there ready to go.

Very reliable EDC
Awesome knife! Didnโt come sharp like they usually do but whatever, I carry it with me all the time, 15/10 would bang.

Not reliably rapid to deploy for EDC
I wanted to like it for EDC but the hook is a fatal flaw. With improvement this design could deliver on a reliably quick deploy EDC. The hook on top of the blade does a great job of hooking inside your pocket so that the knife does not want to come out when it snags and even wants to open up inside your pocket. Fumble fumble... wait a minute... be careful not to poke yourself. This problem is bad tucked in either side. The clip is so incredibly tight that the resistance to remove it from your pocket further exacerbates rapidly deploying it. When trying to intentionally unfold the blade, it takes more effort than cheaper folders I have, sometimes even failing to lock. The hook is the worst deployment enabler I have ever used, having sharp edges, very small, too easy to not quite engage. I am not a fan of the spyderco hole in a lot of designs, but having that complete loop into a decent size hole with no sharp edges instead of the hook would have made a radical improvement in this design. Once unfolded and locked, it feels okay in my hands (men's size large), but is a little on the small side when holding under-hand. For its small size, it has a nice feel when held over-hand with thumb seated nicely into the dip behind the blade shoulder and against the jimping. I think the ring is a great design feature I would like to see used more often because it can be great for retention, support, and employment if integrated correctly for a given user's hand size/shape. I understand every design is a series of choices balancing many design factors, but this one misses the mark, the hook being a terrible idea. I have several favorite folders that deliver far better for much less cost, some using lower-cost alloy than this Bohler N690Co, and some in the same tier. If the hook was intended to be a bottle opener, then that is the last design element I would care about, certainly not wanting it to keal the reliable functionality of its deployment.
