Winees Water Detector Water Sensors

I had gone to change my HVAC filter to find my condensate drain line plugged up and causing a lot of water on the basement floor. Who knew those things could pour out gallons quickly! I then decided to look for a water leak sensor that I could put under my unit to keep an eye out in case anything happens again. I love that it's a smart unit and the battery is due to last upward of a year. I tested it in the bathroom with a little water on the sink and the siren alarm along with my phone both started going off immediately. It's a huge peace of mind with a small investment to save a whole lot of headache!

After a sewer line break, we needed to have a better alert system for water leaks in our basement. I ordered the 3 sensor option. The set up was very straightforward, with my young son activating the sensors. The only minor suggestion would be to identify the sensor name/location before activating the next, as they are not numbered or otherwise identified on the phone app. Ultimately it wasn't a big deal, as my son was able to "activate" each with a damp paper towel for naming once they were in place. The main sensor is on the main level of the house and quite a distance from 1 of the sensors that still worked without delay for alerting. A great way to continue monitoring while home or on vacation (with phone app).

I strongly advise against buying this system, if you want something that just works when you need it. I bought ten sensors and a hub. It lasted only about one year. When the old hub broke, I could not buy a new one that worked with the system I had originally bought. The issue is that for water detection, the system has to be reliable. It is not useful when you constantly have to check whether it works. It needs to just run in the background. This system is not reliable. I switched to Kidde water and freeze detectors, which is a simple system without a hub.

I set up the Winee Wifi water detectors to monitor the crawl space sump pump failure. Put one near the sump pump tank and one near the discharge pipe. A cheap and easy way to monitor flooding in your crawl or basement. Set up was easy and you can rename the various sensors during setup. I recommend writing on the sensors so you can visually know which one goes where. I can't comment on the battery life but will update here with new findings. The APP lets you see the wet/dry state and battery life of each sensor individually. I tested the sensor in the sink and as soon as any water splashed on the sensor or touched the sensor, the audible alarm sounded on the base unit, and text and email notifications were sent via the APP.

This product has compact small satelite sensors that don't need much space. Having the alert alarm hub in the main part of the house with a loudaudible alarm, a big plus. Yes the app alert is dependable. Being big on alarm's, and detection devices that are reliable for consumers is my priority. Some other brands say they have reliable notification, is not always true. I've returned a few. Customer service is dependable out of the box if you need help setting up. Though the instruction manual could use some clarification. I reccomend this product.
