I am putting faith in it that it is providing accurate measurements because I do not have the right equipment to try to calibrate it. I do wish the cord was a little longer from the scale itself to the display so that it would be easier to see when I have something on the scale. That said that could easily be corrected if I were to mount the display to the wall like I believe was intended. However, I have to use the scale in several different rooms so mounting to the wall is not really an option so for my set up, I just put the scale on the hard floor and then put the display as far away as the cord reaches without stretching out the coils. If it was mounted on a wall, you could stretch the coils, but since it’s not the coils do their job display back towards the scale, which sometimes makes it difficult to see if I’m weighing a large piece of furniture Speaking of furniture, I have weighed several different pieces of furniture on the scale and it seems to have done a good job with all of them. The items I have weighed include a whole chest, a toy box a desk, a bookshelf, and a disassemble bed where I weighed the individual pieces of it one at a time. Obviously, I would need a much larger scale, so I’ve had to get creative in weighing the furniture by putting large pieces of wood or other large flat items on it and zero it out before placing the large furniture on it. I wish I didn’t have to do that, but I understand that would require a much larger scale and I’m sure that wouldn’t be in the same price range. My final disappointment comes in the actual weight reading. Sometimes when I weigh a box or a piece of furniture or something else, it will lock in the weight and the weight will remain on the display after I remove the item other times it won’t lock in the weight even if I let it sit there for several minutes and the weight doesn’t change it all during that time. I’m not sure what the trick is to get it to lock the weight into display so I can remove the item from the scale and still go back and log the weight on my spreadsheet. It’s a minor inconvenience, but it’s not that big of a deal. Overall, I really like this scale and I’m glad I purchased it. It’s very portable easy to use and does the job I bought it for.
