Why is the battery external and detachable?

This design choice was made to allow for a much more powerful cooling system and to enable the device to handle the very high power draw (up to 85W+) of the cutting-edge AMD Ryzen AI Max processor.

How does its performance compare to the Steam Deck or ROG Ally?

The top-tier Ryzen AI Max+ 395 model delivers exceptional performance, with integrated graphics that are often compared to a mobile NVIDIA RTX 4060 in a handheld form factor. It is designed to handle AAA titles at 1080p with high to max settings.

What is the battery life like?

Very demanding gaming (at high TDP, like 85W+) will result in a short battery life, estimated to be under an hour (~40-50 minutes). For average gaming at lower power settings, users can expect about 2 to 3 hours.

What are the CPU/GPU options?

The main configurations are the high-end AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 (16 cores, Radeon 8060S GPU) and the still-powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 (8 cores, Radeon 8050S GPU).

What is the Mini SSD Card Slot for?

It is a groundbreaking feature that allows you to easily and quickly swap out large game libraries using a dedicated, high-speed Mini SSD card (up to 2TB) without needing to open the device.
