This compass was bought for my 11 year old son and he loves it! It is not just a basic compass and instead it includes a lot of “extras” that we will need to learn more about (like a sight and an adjustable face to move your direction arrows). The compass itself feels solid and is quite heavy… so if you want something light this is probably not for you.

GREAT QUALITY when my husband saw it the 1st thing he asked was about the price and I told him very affordable. It's in a hard protective box and the lid comes up. We are very happy with our compass and plan on adventuring with the Little's to teach them how to navigate.

This is a great compass that Ive now purchased twice for both of my kids in Scouts. It has a great weight to It and it shows back azimuths. Our Scoutmaster loved the compass so much he asked to borrow ours to teach a class and he ordered one for himself. The second compass I most recently ordered did arrive in used condition- the bag had a considerable amount of and/dirt inside which my son dumped out before I could photograph that and the compass was pretty scratched up. Disappointing but to return it was more of a hassle with Amazon's changing policies. It appears to work fine so other than cosmetic blemishes it should be okay. Juat something to be aware of when you order and I removed one star because of this.

Nice unit. Excellent construction, rangefinder and adjustable dioptics. Bubble level built in. Lanyard and belt hoop. Small multi scale (Standard & Metric) ruler on side for map calibration. Aluminum construction makes it solid and feels substantial.

Very nice piece of equipment. You can feel it as soon as you pick it up and open it. For those who wonder about instructions there is a booklet in the box.

Great for hiking- always good to have on a backpack for a hike. Not too big, functions fine.

This is a good compass which feels solid to use and points north! The bezel rotates OK, there is a little bit of a squeak when turning sometimes but this is fairly typical but doesn't detract from the overall use of the compass. So far it works well, it is damped and settles quickly after movement. It comes with a carry pouch, and a carry strap. Happy with my purchase and certainly good value for money.

Unbeatable at this price point. Very well made and easy to operate. I previously bought a different compass at more than double this price and it was a load of old tat. If you need a good quality compass, look no further.
