I Loved It, You Should Too.
This is a very large, good quality book (14" by 11" ) and I love it. You've got 6 of the best stories drawn in black and white. Articles on the cover artists and the writers, the top 50 covers, and an index of the released Commando issues over the last 50 years. I read the books in the 70s so this brings back good memories and I even recognise some of the stories. If you've any interest in Commando books at all you should love this book too.

Commanding View
Large (and I do mean LARGE), HB book chronicling the history of Commando (pocket-size war comic from the 60s onwards). For those of us who read it as boys, it's a trip down memory lane; for those who didn't, it's a chance to appreciate a truly great British strip. The title is viewed from different aspects with chapters on the artists and writers; six of the best stories are reprinted in full, with original covers (where I was pleased to find that my favourite artist in the genre, Jose Jorge, is represented) and there is a numbered checklist for collectors. I saw some of the original art at the N.A.M. exhibition in summer 2012 and it's good to have it in a permanent format.

Re-living your youth
I don't believe that there is any male in the UK who didn't read " Commando " in their youth. The comemorative book celebrating 50 years of the publication is a wonderful record of the genre, which explains all aspects of the creation of "Commando" from the story editors, artists and covers. A brilliant record of days gone by!
