I bought it for a friend's kid who specifically asked for a switchblade comb for his birthday. When I went looking, I was expecting that I would only find the same carnival prize plastic crap I had in the 80s. I came across this one and it looked to be decent, and the price was good. I didn't really expect it to be as nice as it is.It's solid, heavy, and feels well constructed. The spring feels strong, and it opens with a confident snap. The safety works to keep it shut in your pocket. I can't comment on how long it will last, but it seems like it's very well made. I've seen some complaints about the metal tines on the comb being sharp or grabby. I have no hair on my head, but I ran it through my longish beard a couple of times and it felt fine. The kid I gave it to and his dad both ran it through their (fairly well pomaded) hair and seemed adequately pleased with it. I'm sure it's not the greatest comb available, but that's not really the point, is it?Anyway, the look on the face of the 11 year old who got this was sufficient to justify the $10 it cost.
