I’ve been using API TAP WATER CONDITIONER for a few weeks now, and I’m extremely impressed with its effectiveness in keeping my aquarium water clean and safe for my fish. Here’s why I’m giving it a 5-star review: 1. Perfect for New Aquariums and Water Changes: I’ve recently set up a new tank, and this conditioner has been a lifesaver. It quickly removes harmful chlorine, chloramine, and heavy metals from tap water, which could be toxic to fish. It ensures the water is safe to use without waiting for the water to sit for days. 2. Safe and Effective for All Fish Species: Whether I’m adding new fish to my tank or doing a routine water change, I feel confident using this product. It’s safe for all types of freshwater fish, including my delicate species. I haven’t noticed any signs of stress in my fish after water changes, which speaks volumes about the quality of this conditioner. 3. Easy to Use: The API TAP WATER CONDITIONER is super easy to use. I simply add the recommended amount per gallon of water, and it instantly works its magic. No hassle, no mess—just pour and go! 4. Great Value for Money: Considering the price and the amount of product you get (16 ounces), this conditioner is a great value. It lasts for a long time since you only need a small amount with each water change, making it an affordable option for any aquarium owner. 5. Fast Acting: The conditioner works fast! I can fill the tank with treated water and immediately begin acclimating new fish. I’ve had no issues with cloudy or unsafe water when using this conditioner, and it’s consistently kept the water quality at its best. 6. Trusted Brand: API is a well-respected brand in the aquarium industry, and it’s a name I trust when it comes to my fish’s health. Their products are always reliable and effective. REMOVES CHEMICALS IN YOUR WATER HARMING YOUR AFRICAN VIOLETS AND PLANTS!!
I noticed my african violet leaves were drooping without an apparent cause, but it was suggested to me that it was being caused by chloramines in my drinking water. I called and found that chloride and chloramines were in the water. I bought this product to remove those elements before watering. It’s proving itself effective because my plants are looking better. Very simple to use…a few drops in a gallon of water. The bottle size is small but you only need a little bit at a time. The water is cleaner sans mentioned chemicals, water is clear, and my plants are healthy and happier. The price is extremely fair, there are choices of different sizes, and I will buy this product again. 7/15/25…I RECENTLY HAD FAMILY OVER AND THEY WERE SO SURPRISED AT HOW WELL ALL OF MY AFRICAN VIOLETS WERE DOING AND ASKED WHAT I WAS DOING FOR THEM. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THIS PRODUCT AND I SENT THREE PEOPLE HOME WITH GALLON CONTAINERS OF TREATED WATER (I ADDED THE FERTILIZER I WAS USING AS WELL) AND SINCE THEN, THEY HAVE ALL ORDERED THIS PRODUCT. I HAVE BOUGHT A LARGER BOTTLE SINCE I FIRST WROTE THIS REVIEW. IT IS ESSENTIAL!!!!! (I'm NOW ALSO ADDING GARDENWISE 3-1-2 FERTILIZER WITH ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS ALONG WITH THIS PRODUCT AND THE COMBINATION HAS MY VIOLETS EXPLODING!!!!!) OUTSTANDING PRODUCT!! A++++

This stuff works!
I purchased this nearly 2 years ago and it is still over half full. I have 3 fish tanks totaling 150 gallons of water and roughly 80 houseplants. So I USE this stuff. But it only takes a drop to condition a gallon of water. This product at this price is an absolute STEAL! I have water testers that test for chlorine and this stuff never fails to neutralize the chlorine in the water.

Healthier water for healthier plants
Looking forward to healthier and happier plants. Going by all the reviews, this product seems to stand the test of time. I haven’t used it yet, but I’m certain it is much more effective, and of way higher quality, than tap water. No smell. And the cap has a 1 mL measurement which is really nice for me, since I use gallon, or less, containers, for watering. Great expiration date for lasting a long time.

Awesome Product-Funky Smell
I bought this water conditoner for my betta tank. It does a great job and conditioning the water, and the measuring cap comes in handy. This stuff doesn't detoxify ammonia and nitrite like Seachem Prime does, but still gets the job done for my betta. It is a huge bottle that can last forever as well! The only thing is the smell is kinda funky, like boiled eggs. However, this is a great budget conditioner!

Works to remove chlorine & my plants look better especially my spider plant no more brown leaf tips
I don't use this in my aquarium I use it in my water for my house plants because a lot of plants don't like chlorine it removes the chlorine along with some heavy metals and my plants don't seem to get as many brown tips like they were getting before I started using this. For my aquarium I use a different brand. My plants seem healthier and that's all i am looking for with this water conditioner.

Works Exactly as Expected
Does its job perfectly. I tested my water after dosing and it removed all the chlorine without issue. There’s no noticeable smell, and it comes in a thick, sturdy bottle. For my very small tank, I use a syringe to measure it out more precisely. With how concentrated it is, this bottle should last me years if stored properly. Love API products.

I love this API water conditioner because it does exactly what it promises. It instantly neutralizes chlorine and chloramines, which gives me peace of mind during water changes. I’ve noticed my fish are more active and the water stays clear. Plus, it lasts a long time since you only need a small amount. Definitely a must-have for any aquarium.

I like this one because it’s just one drop/gallon. Makes it easy to add to fish tank. Most of the other brands have you pore it into the cap and are so many ml/gal which sometimes makes it hard when you only need it for smaller tanks. Sometimes I just add a few gallons and I put just 3 drops in. Easy and never had a problem and I’ve been using this stuff for years. Sometimes it’s hard to find as it’s out of stock. I used to be able to buy it in store but Amazon has been the only place I could buy it for many year for some strange reason.
