I am a very hot sleeper...is this pad actually “cooling” like the description says?

I switched from a memory foam beautyrest mattress that was always hot and swiched to a Saavta mattress which is naturally nice and cool. I put this topper on and was warm on a cool night and I started to sweat so I removed it returned it. Comfortable but not cool as advertised.

What percentage bamboo is it?

The tag on the mattress topper says bamboo is 40%.

Soft and plush, yet you sink into it easily. What ever level firmness you mattress is, it will add a little plush to that making it a bit softer overall.

will it reduce the effectiveness if used over a memory foam mattress

I don't see how it would. My mattress has a pillow top and the pad just makes it more comfortable, and seems to continue to do so. I thought it would flatten out over time, but it doesn't. Really has helped me. Hope this helps.
