No, the rice is not sprouted. It is ready to cook in the conventional manner. I mix it with rice and whole-grain wheat for a multi-grain dish.

Why does this look more like black rice instead of a wild rice with different colors?

It is, in fact, plain old wild rice. I grant you the artwork on the packaging seems quite different from the actual rice that is clearly seen in the transparent area of the pak. Dumb art department?
