NieR: Automata World Guide Volume 1

Though, this is not an arts book for Nier:Automata, but it has many beautiful arts in it. The book is explaining the game to you, from the world components to everything. Even the smallest details like animals and grass or parts in every map in the game. If you're a fan of the game you will love this book for sure it has many arts of the characters in the game too and they're very detailed. It's nice to have it or to gift it to your friend.

Like many other reviewers have mentioned, it's not just an "art book" or only a "strategy guide". Instead it does a great job of combining the Nier Automata game's beautiful art (hand drawn & game graphics) as well as information, tips, and at the end a story. I love that it came in hardback. I buy mainly eBooks these days but, I wanted a physical copy of it. Anyway, it's a hybrid between the two types of books. If you prefer only an art book or a strategy guide, this might not be for you. However, if you're interested in both and you are a fan then you will probably love the book as much as I did. One of the coolest things from it were the breakdown diagrams of the parts of everything from flight units to machine life form components. I'd highly recommend it.

Much in the same vein that Nier: Automata is an interesting blend of gaming genres, this book is a mash up of different print media we generally see in gaming. Part artbook, part strategy guide, and part narrative lore expansion, the World Guide has a nice little mix of everything. That said, this book is predominately an artbook akin to Nier being predominately an action RPG. At about 180 pages long, the hardbound volume consists of character art, scenic portraits, maps, screenshots, and narrative. It's really interesting. I have to say, having purchased other localized gaming artbooks, every one of these sorts of English editions gives me strategy guide vibes. I think that's just an issue with me, as I used to purchase guides back in the day since most artbooks were never localized. My brain just correlates English text and gaming imagery with a strategy guide. I have seen videos of the Japanese edition of this book and it appears to be a 1:1 localization, from an aesthetic perspective. It also looks like the Japanese version has a softcover to boot. Recommended for Nier fans.

The book itself is very pretty. The book is sturdy and came in pristine condition. The pages have a nice feel to them, and the short stories...aw man, they are adorable and bring a bit of humanity to the characters before providing some crucial lore information. I would recommend this to anyone who has played the game and wants to know more about the world and its characters.

Esperaba que viniera cubierto y protegido, pero llegó en la caja junta al otro libro que compre, hasta daba miedo saber que un mal movimiento iba a deformar el libro. Lo bueno es que es Tapa dura y son muy resistentes, luego la calidad del libro es impresionante, me hubiera gustado que tenga más procesos del diseño que hicieron para 2B, 9S y los demás personajes, ya sabes uno siempre adora los procesos.

... it's almost as good as one. This volume, at least. the nier automata world guide vol 1 contains decent mix of game maps, concept art, character information, and short stories that build on the world. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a "must have", but it's a pretty good addition to any nier fan's library. A little bit on the smaller side with just under 200 pages but each one is gorgeously laid out with artwork, text, designer notes, etc, etc. The front cover looks amazing especially the few glossy pixelated blocks they added. That was a nice touch. The quality of the paper inside is really nice as well, each page has a certain weight to it, which I love in artbooks like these.

INSANE quality! This book is a feast for any fan of the NieR:Automata The pages, the art, everything is just 10/10. Delivery was also really fast even though it was an internation purchase. It arrived in pretty much one week.
