I teach 4th grade- If I place the stool on tile flooring-- will it slide? Or is it pretty sturdy and will not slide out from underneath the child?

It won't slide. It also won't tip easily, but it will tip if the kid makes an extreme effort to tip it. I work with high school kids- so make sure you get the right height for your 4th graders or their feet won't be solidly on the ground.
