The Makrolon AR abrasion-resistant polycarbonate sheet has a clear transparent color and meets Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 972 specifications for burglary-resistant glazing materials and UL 94 HB specifications for flame retardance. Makrolon AR polycarbonate (PC) has a hard coating to provide higher abrasion resistance than the general-purpose Makrolon GP, while also still providing toughness, dimensional stability, and impact resistance. It is suitable for flat architectural glazing, machine guards, and laminates. Transparent clear polycarbonate is used as a lightweight, impact-resistant alternative to glass.Plastic refers to a group of synthetic or semi-synthetic materials that have been engineered to achieve specific properties.
