Moondrop Pill: $50 Audiophile Magic for Your Ears - A Steal!
Wow! How are these **earbuds** just $49.99? I'm not overselling this—it's an absolute steal. These are easily some of the **best-sounding and most comfortable earbuds** I've ever used. The **Moondrop Pill** delivers excellent sound, is incredibly comfortable, and can genuinely be considered **audiophile-grade wireless earbuds**. I don't say that lightly, especially as a proud owner of numerous premium headphones and IEMs. The Moondrop Pill might be exactly what you're looking for if you want to bridge the gap between typical earbuds and superior audio. They're just that good! I recently bought other **open-ear earbuds** just to try out the trend. While they were all fairly decent, none quite fit what I was truly looking for. The **clip-on open-ear design** of the Moondrop Pill is perfect. They're comfortable and fit my small ears perfectly. They don't sit directly in your ear canal; instead, they rest just outside it, making them ideal for anyone with sensitive or narrow ear canals. The greatest benefit of this design is that it allows you to still hear **exterior sound**, which was crucial for me, as I need to be aware of my surroundings at work. The Moondrop Pill delivered on this. However, what other open-ear earbuds lacked, and what I desperately needed, was **great sound**—not just decent sound, but _great_ sound. I needed something that could truly deliver the impact of whatever genre of music I was listening to. And let me tell you, the Moondrop Pill does not disappoint in that department at all. The design is unique, especially the **case**, which is typical for Moondrop's wireless earbud options. I purchased the white variation, and the white/red capsule looks like a large pill. Its **clear, see-through aesthetic** is cool, and opening it is easy. I've had no problem carrying it in my pocket, though I'd be hesitant to put it in a pocket with keys, fearing they might scratch the capsule's surface. It's smooth and unobtrusive. A nifty feature allows you to charge either earbud in either slot of the case, which is a nice touch and convenient when you're in a hurry or just need a quick charge without fumbling to find the correct side. I was introduced to Moondrop through their IEMs, and they all had a specific tuning that suited the various genres I listen to. I listen to a mixed bag of everything: R&B, classical, classic rock, soul, and more. The **Moondrop Pill easily adapts to all of these genres** remarkably well. While the sound quality won't match a premium IEM or headphone, it performs extremely well for an open-ear earbud. The overall sound is **balanced, vocals are clear, and surprisingly for an open-ear clip-on earbud, the bass is really good**. I had no trouble getting a good bass response from these earbuds—much better than other open-ear options in this price range. I also found that it adapted the bass well to whatever type of music I was listening to. There's a **firmware update** available, at least from when I purchased it about a month ago. You can update by downloading the **Moondrop Link App**, where you can also **customize the EQ** of the Pill. Additionally, there's **PEQ support**, which is amazing for accessing shareable tunings from the community. Another interesting feature is the ability to enable **Multipoint**, allowing simultaneous Bluetooth use across at least two connected devices. At this price point, this deal is hard to pass up. If you're looking for **open-ear wireless earbuds** with **great sound, extreme comfort, and environmental awareness** due to their lack of sound isolation, the Moondrop Pill will be the perfect fit.

Excellent and stylish budget open-ear buds
Excellent budget open-ear buds. They are simple to set up, connect to multiple devices, and comfortable out of the box. I put them through a gauntlet of music and they handle most sound loud and clear, with excellent vocals but sub par in some frequencies and older music. The controls are straightforward, though I have not been able to adjust volume yet. There is an app for added features, as well as some extra goodies like wallpaper.

My new favorite earbuds
I thought the clip on type headphones were a gimmick but after using them they are quickly becoming my favorite type. They are far more comfortable to wear for long periods of time, so if you're using them somewhere you don't need noise isolation you often forget they are even on. Sound wise they sound great to my ears. Clear sound, obviously not a huge amount of bass given they don't seal, but still very respectable. I found them best for listening to podcasts and YouTube. Case is really cool looking, but the one thing I didn't like is that the swivel mechanism to open it is very easy to trigger so they always end up opening in your pocket. The magnets are strong enough to keep the earbuds in though, so I never had them fall out of the case in my pocket. App is the same Moondrop app, which is fine. There's a ton of community EQ settings but they are all in Chinese, so I simply picked the most downloaded one. All in all these are my new go to buds if I don't need any noise isolation or noise cancellation. I keep them on during the day and forget they are there, but when I need them they're already in my ear and ready to go.

Fantastic if you EQ them and don’t get defective set
These can deliver a robust bass similar to open back on ear headphones and can also beat Apple EarPods or AirPods 4 (without anc) in terms of sound quality and comfort. Utilize the eq and mess with it or go to the free community eq with the app and look up “Koss” or “AirPods Max” eq. This will adjust the sound for more warm cinematic tone. I love the battery life and the comfort. Also when you wear this make sure to put then on so that the back button area that go behind your ear is just under your earlobe. This give the best volume and bass. Keep in mind you may want more treble and mids when in noisy environments. When indoors you will want to boost the bass and reduce the mids and heights with Koss like eq. Honestly these sound quality is amazing and there is a lot flexibility with the app using the eq or community eq presets. It’s all in Chinese writing but I did upload a few in English copying few of the other community creators to help out with understanding the eq. You can also screen shot with your phone and use Apple/Google Translate to figure out the eqs which is what I did. You would be hard pressed to find anything this good for a on ear clip earring style ear bud. Perfect size and the battery last 7 hours per charge. Quality is nice but I had to get mine exchanged due to a manufacturing defect where somthing was already loose in the right ear bud when I got it which didn’t affect the sound but at times made the bud sound like a ball barring was in your ear which suck. Amazon exchanged it for free so it was definitely worth buying on Amazon. Since these clip on your ear I would say the adjustable nature of this is perfect for anyone’s ears as long as you like to position them behind your earlobes. Update: my replacement set was defective too. I’m upset at the poor quality control. This one didn’t connect to the app while the other one with lose piece did. I returned it. Only buy this if you’re willing to deal with exchanges. Quality of sound alone can’t make up for poor quality control of manufacturing. Maybe I got a bad batch or just not lucky. Update 2: I ended up Buying the Baseus XC1 with sound by Bose. It’s more money but well worth it. No setup needed for that and the app is merely a plus with that open ear bud. I will say Pills has a nicer fit then the Baseus XC1 but the XC1 feels lighter and produces the best sound you may currently be able to get with an open ear bud like this. Plus Baseus is not glitchy with the app.

Tremendous value, lovely sound, and a unique fashion statement.
First, let’s get the obvious out of the way. These are great sounding open-ear earbuds. Truthfully speaking and unpaid. You have to have an understanding that these are not lodged into your ear canal, so obviously the sound isn’t totally encompassing. What you do get, is an awesome pair of buds that deliver an exceptional value. It almost because a lifestyle accessory to clip on my ears. Bass is punchy and terrific for open-ear clip on buds, people will always complain by the poor amount of bass but these aren’t Dre over-ear headphones. Play with the EQ, because that’s when everything really goes up a notch. Microphone quality is the only knock for these, but if taking calls is a priority stick with Apple’s line of products hands down. My own personal opinion is the case is a bit bulky and cumbersome. Unique absolutely, but functionally a little on the uneasy side.

Good sound, comfortable, great price
I’ve used these headphones for a little over a month now mainly for running. Pros: -great price -comfortable in ear -stays put during rigorous activities -sound is good -looks great -sweat proof -can pause and skip track with touch controls -good looking case Cons: -no volume control -cannot connect device to app!!! -case tends to flip open, but headphones do not fall out -case can roll around on flat surfaces -lacks charge percentage display

Bad Companion App
For a company that prides itself on audio quality it’s kind of shocking that their companion app makes the experience so abysmal. The earbuds will not connect to the moondrop app AT ALL. If you plan on using this for any IOS device just buy from another brand.

Solid Everyday Headphones with Great Battery Life and Comfort
I’ve been using these headphones daily for about a month now, and they’ve quickly become my favorite pair. I mostly use them to listen to videos, podcasts, and radio while doing stuff where I still want to be aware of what’s going on around me. Sound: This is my first pair of open-ear headphones, and the sound leakage really caught me by surprise. I saw a lot of reviews saying it was minimal, but people can definitely hear them a bit if they’re close, about a meter away at half volume and farther if it’s louder. It’s not a big deal for me since I usually don’t have people that close and rarely listen at high volume. Sound quality is great. They’re way better than my old Samsung Buds 2. The open-ear design makes the sound a bit quieter, but I still think it’s higher quality overall. Microphone / Calls: I never liked using headphones for calls before, but these totally changed my mind. Calls sound clear, and the mic works great when I talk at a normal volume. No complaints from the other party. So far, I’ve only used them indoors with regular background noise such as the TV, dishwasher, or people chatting at the other side f the room. Fit: They fit me perfectly, but someone else who tried them on found them too big. For me, they stay secure even when I’m running or jumping around. Battery Life: I usually wear them for about 4 to 5 hours a day, and the battery only drops to around 60 percent. I only need to recharge the case about once a week. App: The app’s pretty good too. So far, I’ve only used it to set up the headphone controls, but it seems well made. Overall: I’m really happy with these. Hopefully they hold up over time since I’ve seen a few reviews mentioning one earbud failing or breaking. I’ll update this review if that ever happens.

Good quality
They feel nice quality. Haven't had any problems. The connecting voice is a bit annoying though.

Goed product, slechte uitwerking.
Go figure.

Unique but niche take on clip-on earbuds
The MOONDROP Pill clip-on earbuds are certainly a unique entry in the ever-evolving open-ear market. While they bring MOONDROP’s usual flair for design and affordability, the experience feels more lifestyle than audiophile. Design & Build Quality The build is solid for the price point, and the design is lightweight with a sleek aesthetic. I picked up the black pair, but the more colourful options arguably show off the look better. The clip mechanism feels sturdy without being uncomfortable. Ease of Use & Fit As a first-time clip-on earbud user, I found the fit unintuitive at first. I wasn’t sure whether to seat the bud deeper into the canal or leave it slightly outside. After some experimenting, I found a comfortable balance, but the learning curve may frustrate new users. Sound Quality Here’s where the Pill didn’t quite land for me. The soundstage felt a bit underwhelming, and while MOONDROP provides a decent EQ suite (including DSP community submissions and presets like Reference and Bass+), I personally couldn’t warm to the overall tuning. That said, MOONDROP has a reputation for solid sound in their IEMs, so different ears may have a better experience. Features & Tech The Pill includes ENC, which works reasonably well but won’t compete with higher-end solutions. The MOONDROP app is a highlight, offering firmware updates, EQ customisation, and community tunings. Controls are handled via touch sensors on the back of the clip — intuitive once you get used to them, though easy to mis-trigger. Battery Life & Charging Battery life is ample for day-to-day use, and the case feels solid enough for pocket carry. Charging is straightforward and reliable. Value for Money At this price, MOONDROP delivers a product that blends style with function. As an audiophile-grade device, it falls short — there are better-sounding alternatives around. But as a casual, open-ear lifestyle product, it holds its own. Verdict The MOONDROP Pill is an interesting take on open-ear listening, but not a perfect one. If you’re after convenience and a unique design, it may be worth a try. If sound quality is your top priority, you’ll likely find better options if you're willing to pay the premium they demand.
