where is it made

Currently the Schrade 153UH Golden Spike was last made in China if it is still being manufactured. Originally it was made in the USA. Schrade originals stopped being manufactured in 2004.

Is it full tang?

No. It's a fairly strong design but not true full tang.  To disassemble, undo the phillips screw at the butt end and pull. The blade is one piece with the tang, which is about half the width of the blade at its widest and just as thick as the blade (i.e., way stronger than a one-piece rat-tail design or even worse, the rat-tail welded to short stub and end of blade). The tang goes almost to the base of the buttplate, where it ends in a 2-piece arragement to provide something for the phillips screw to screw into. My original USA Schrade from 1982 or so has a 1/4" bit of steel rod with a center threaded hole for the butt-plate screw. The rod is in a 1/4" hole bored through the tang near its end. My Chinese imitation (aka "Wichita Skinner") has a captive hex nut serving the same purpose. Both also have a slot cut from the end of the tang to the threaded metal, for the butt-plate screw. The Golden Spike is one of my favorite Schrade designs, perhaps the best looking of the ones priced within my reach. BTW, in museums in Europe you will see plenty of remains of medieval sword and knives - (almost?) all with rat-tail tangs.

On the box it is stated "Made in China"Amazon listing could be wrong. Unfortunately in Amazon.com the person who create the listing first time put the title and the information. All seller has to follow whatever the first person put. If something is wrong, it is a lengthy process to change info through Amazon. On other market places each seller can add all the info he wanted in his listing.
