55 Gallon Drum Pump for DEF, DEF Pump for 55gal Barrel, 9-14 oz per Stroke

I am a 70 year old woman who wanted to build a rain water collection drum that I could pump the water out of the 55gal drum for me to water my plants on my deck. It was easy to assemble, attach to my water barrel, and pumped perfectly. I am very pleased.

If you’ve collected rain water but there’s no faucet to let the water out, You need this pump. We put a hole in the lid from a barrel so the pump would stay in place. You have to work your arms a bit but once you pump a few times, the water keeps coming out into your water buckets. This helps because you can set the 5 gallon buckets near the plants that will get watered. Our tap water has chlorine so unless you draw up water and let it set for 2 days, you shouldn’t use it. If you have to use tap water, just water the soil, not the plants/leaves/foliage. Rain water is good all over!

Absolute piece of garbage. Transferred 5 drums of ethanol and the seal is blown out. Won’t work anymore. I wouldn’t buy again.

The original pump for my emergency 15 gal water cistern broke. Bought this one and it’s much more robust, easy to assemble and works perfectly.

This was a bit of a tool to put together, mainly because the instructions are backwards on its assembly of the adjustable tube that goes inside the container. There is a main tube that connects to the pump itself, but the adjustable part of that tube has to be assembled to the main tube before secured to the pump, however the confusing instructions says to apply the main tube to the pump first, THEN add the adjustable tube, which is physically impossible, as the main tube has a seal that needs to be inserted from the top of that adjustable tube. PLUS, the extension tube for the larger blue barrels, it’s not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. Nor is the flex hose that I used and assume goes on the outlet to better direct the water to the watering can. However, once assembled, it does secure to the blue barrels perfectly. It pumps smoothing and easily, it actually pushes a good bit of water on a single pump. The handle has to be assembled as well, it comes with screws, washers, and fastener nuts, just pay attention and place washer on each side of the outer ends of the bolts. Again, that’s missing in the instructions. The pump head at the base and a multi thread system to fit 3 different sized barrel outlets. The blue barrels we have it took a bit of finesse, but I did get it to line up and and it’s well secured. It functions great, has a smooth push and pull, very hefty in its operation. Very happy with this.

this smart jerry is useful and I'm content I bought it. The only thing I did observed it cannot be screw on the upper barrel and it's loose. If it could be adjusted so that it's compatible to the opening to the barrel it will be excellent.

The little seal that goes on the piston rod was mangled, and I couldn’t get it to work so oil sprayed everywhere as I was pumping. They could do a little more assembly. If you’re going to do a shoddy job putting on thread sealant tape, then just don’t put it on. I had to take it off and put new thread sealant on.
