Unique and fun!
A friend introduced us to this game. and it feels complicated to play. But once you get the hand of it, its so much fun! The game has two sides and multiple cards that are played uniquely through each game which can create a good variety. The game is also a good travel size. The quality of the game is amazing and has such a fun feel to it. Highly recommend to everyone. If you enjoy games like stardew valley, you would like this game

Great 'flip and write' game for all ages
I had seen and read many reviews of this flip and write game and they have been widely positive and enthusiastic about Cartographers being among the best in its field. Cartographers is easy to learn and good value for money with double sided pads with two different layouts to draw on. Enough for 200 plays. The game is well supported by the publisher and already has numerous small and large box expansions which provide new map pad layouts and cards. I find the game relaxing and also thinky with a great balance of focus and interaction. I enjoy and recommend using coloured pencils (I like the better quality art pencils that shade better) to make the map more vibrant and easier to read when scoring. Fun for all ages you won't be disappointed 🙂

Great!
Very quick to learn, and I play it solo. To be honest, because of the mechanics if you play in a group you’re still mainly playing solo. It’s very enjoyable, quick to set up and tear down, and takes very little desk space.

Great game, but
There is an App now. I regret I bought the physical version of it. Scoring is a nightmare, the App does it for you, that’s why I prefer the digital version.

Good Game, Wrong Language!
I received a German version, which wasn’t what was advertised or paid for. With the lockdown, I’m not going to make drivers come and collect stuff to get a refund, but I’d recommend checking the language before you order. This feels like a third party taking advantage of people stuck at home and shifting their rubbish accordingly. Having played it previously, I can recommend the game itself without reservation, but this is a rip off!

One of the better roll & writes! Easy to learn, easy to play.

English language received
In contrast with some other recent English reviews, I ordered direct from Amazon (not a third party) and can confirm I received the English version.

Love that this game can be played with big and small groups. Love that it is one younger kids can understand and be included in. Maybe not really little, but our 8y.o. thinks its awesome. As long as they can sit through the game and understand the idea of shapes fitting on the grid it's not hard to pick up. But older players may need to 'be kind' to young players on monster attacks. Love that it can be played pretty quickly. Keeps kids and adults attention. Love that you can print out more maps for free online from the game designer's website. Family friendly, competitive, but not cut throat. You can be mean with monster attack placement, but you have to use the shape on the card drawn, so there is only so much damage you can inflict. So far entire family has enjoyed it. We like to use colored pencils or colored markers on the maps to match the colors of the squares on the cards for easier point counting.
