Powerful Gaming Laptop With Plenty of Resources!
Blazing fast, powerful CPU and graphics card, plenty of RAM and disk space, and so much more! I absolutely love my new laptop! It is fast, easy to setup and get fully updated, and runs games better than my desktop does! I purchased the laptop during Amazon's Prime day as a little bit of a splurge. My previous laptop was nearly 10 years old and was really showing it's age, so it was time for a replacement. I will mention a few items that I'm less than pleased with. First is the number pad that overlays on the mouse pad. This is just a bad idea all around. Sometimes I press the Num Lock button on accident and when that happens the mouse pad stops working as a mouse. Plus, when I have a Bluetooth keyboard attached and activate the Num Lock, it actives the one on the mouse pad as well. Second, unlike other laptops of this price range, it only came with Windows 11 Home edition instead of Pro edition. So I had to pay to upgrade it as I prefer the Pro version as I have more control over the configuration of Windows itself. Last, I wish the display was a touchscreen display. But alas, it was not included with this version. But, all-in-all, I am pleased with the performance, quality, and appearance of this laptop. My hope is that this laptop will provide me with years of use and enjoyment! So far, it's off to a great start!

DO NOT HESITATE! Awesome laptop!! Honestly…
Been using this for a little over a week now, the RTX 5060 performs superb! The screen is beautiful! Especially for being a laptop screen compared to an OLED display or monitor, it looks GREAT, the colors and overall image are very sharp looking All of my games( AAA titles or otherwise) run at high or ultra settings with high frame rates and no stutter! Going to be upgrading ram and storage down the line Runs GTA V Enhanced on High RT over 100fps in most scenarios I’ve also run Warframe with the “high preset” and runs over 120fps it looks beautiful and performs beautiful! I’m very picky when it comes to frame rate/graphics(coming from an avid desktop user…I have high expectations) and this laptop performs as good or better than it looks! I’m impressed The speakers aren’t super impressive, and aren’t super loud or anything I wish they were a little better, but they’re not terrible by any means, just not super LOUD, most gamers would probably be using a headset anyway for voice chat/streaming/gameplay anyway…don’t let this steer you away, this is a great laptop despite not having “the best sound system in the world” I Don’t notice any excessive fan noise or overheating issues of any kind I’m using it everyday for gaming and I can’t leave it alone! When I have lan parties at friends houses, my trusty machine comes with me! I’m always excited to open the lid, plug it in and start gaming! The RGB lighting is gorgeous! It’s also fun to show off to friends and family ;) I’ve owned many gaming laptops over the last 12 years or so, this is my second machine with an 5060 in it, and this one has been my favorite! Better than any of the rest!

It reveals itself to you like an ancient artifact.
Could be a bit cheaper but for the price and what it can do this is a fabulous piece of tech. It does get hot a bit quick even with its cooling system, I purchased a nice laptop cooler that helps it stay within safe operating temperatures. I love that you actually able to upgrade the ram on this things, although it would be nice to be able to upgrade all hardware when the time comes. The screen is beautiful I was initially a little disappointed I didn’t get the 4k version due to the price difference but the quality of the screen is incredible, very bright and colorful. Fan stays quiet can’t ever hear it over my headphones. Battery lasts about as long as you would expect, but whenever I do take it over the charger it lasts a solid 2-3 hours before needing to be plugged in and that’s with high intensity gaming. So could potentially be used to school and other activities.

Go with the Intel version and get the new design
Compared to the other gaming laptops, ROG Strix G16 will be little more expensive, however, you can feel that you get a quality machine that is going to last you long. If you are debating between 5070 and 5070 Ti as well as AMD or Intel, go with Intel version and 5070 Ti, since it has a new chassis. Amazing performance and speed. Not too noisy and doesn’t get too hot compared to other laptops.

I'd recommend picking this up, if you're thinking about it. I've become a fan.
This is a pretty great laptop. I've had it for a few months now- though I would recommend running a few benchmarks when you get it. I've found a few problems that- had I properly tested things, I likely would have requested a replacement. Namely: For some reason, randomly, the keyboard just... stops accepting key presses. The "M" keys at the top of the keyboard still work, and connected keyboard/peripherals work properly, but for a fairly strange amount of time the keyboard just kinda stops, as if the system 'disconnects' from the keyboard. After a period of time (anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes), it works properly again. This can be problematic during intense gaming sessions. More recently- after a LOT of troubleshooting. I had to completely remove the keyboard drivers and install (while using a separate connected keyboard). It also gets pretty hot, Granted it's a gaming board, so it's expected- it doesn't hit the same temps as my previous MSI setup, nor my girl's Acer. Though it's a bit higher than comfortable. The keys are also in a bit of a strange configuration, so if you play anything that utilizes the 'Alt' key- here's a tip, using 'Fn' + 'Windows key' disables the Windows button until you use the shortcut again. Now that I'm done with the few things that have caused discomfort- I can throw ANY game at this and play it at high or Ultra settings (including Borderlands 4, this is before there has been any optimization done with that pile- so where everyone else is frustrated over the fact that they're stuttering all over the place after an hour, I'm still good- hopefully that whole thing is fixed by the time you pick this up, but if not- you'll be good) I upgraded my SSD and added a second, so I'm swimming in storage space, so I swap between games often. The reason I bring this up, is the way they've setup the keyboard lighting, it's killer. I've never liked RGB, but this changed that. I've got a different lighting setup between each game and I have full control over which lights are on/off and which colors are being used in which locations. The weight is a little over what my last rig was, but it's a much higher spec system, so that's a trade-off. Oh, and I would sincerely suggest, if you use a PC connected VR headset, you'll likely need some adapters, this has a great graphics card for VR gaming, but it likely won't have the connectors you need out the box. I feel like this review sounds more negative than I intended, but honestly, I'm STILL stoked that I have this rig, And in the future, when I upgrade to whatever the future holds, I'll be keeping this around as long as it's anywhere remotely as good as it is today.

There are much better laptops out there for the money
Avoid this product. It's the most disappointing laptop I've ever had. Tl;dr: The laptop mostly functions as expected, but there is something seriously wrong with the networking that I believe is software related. This was fixed for me by reinstalling Windows. The installation it came with had some kind of networking issue that I couldn't resolve without wiping the pre-configured drive. The other major issue is the keyboard malfunctions by periodically cutting out for 30 seconds at a time every 30 minutes or so. This is kind of weird because I didn't have this issue initially. The keyboard issue may be related to firmware. It may only have issues at lower power states, but I'm not sure. All firmware and drivers are up to date though. Pros: It's powerful, has a good battery life, moderate weight, etc. Cons: Armory create is pretty terrible. I have heard people complaining about it for years and now I see why. It came installed with McAfee spyware. Why do that? I can't figure out what the problem is yet, but SMB file transfer speeds are impossibly slow. I can move files between PCs at 20MB/s at best (often 5-10MB/s). Usually I can only use about 150Mbps of bandwidth. I was hoping to get close to the 2.5Gbe speeds or the Wifi 7 speeds, but no... it's profoundly useless to move large files. Every other PC I have on the network is blazing fast, but this laptop operates at 20 year old speeds. Iperf3 shows fast speeds, which I admittedly find confusing, so maybe there is some kind of significant SMB configuration issue that I don't understand with the OEM windows installation/configuration. I'm going to try to reinstall windows and figure out how to at least get 10 year old network speeds. That'd be an improvement over how it is now. I would avoid this laptop as it's been a painful experience to have incredibly terrible networking on a laptop. I'm thinking about trying to RMA it if reinstalling Windows won't help, but I'm afraid with Asus' RMA reputation, it's worth just selling it at a loss if there are issues. Update: I was able to get the networking to work better by wiping the primary drive and reinstalling Windows without whatever bloat it came with. The Wi-fi is still trash, with super low speeds, but the ethernet port is working properly after wiping the Windows installation it came with. Unfortunately the other major issue I've run into is the keyboard stops working periodically, and this happens often (roughly every 30 mins). It'll cut off to where no key works for roughly 30 seconds then functions normally again. There are many people complaining about that for years, so I think it's a widespread issue. I don't have a solution to this problem yet, so I'm thinking about starting the RMA process to try that route.

Nice laptop
Laptop is working great so far, happy with my purchase. The design and RGB lighting is very stylish. I also do not find the fans to be noisy, and are basically silent when doing non-gaming tasks. My only complaint is that the power cable that plugs into the computer is too short; if the power brick sits on the floor the cable isn't long enough to reach the desk.

Great laptop
Great laptop BUT ships with bad default settings that cause crashes. BEFORE you think your PC is broken: 1. Set TDR timeout to 60 seconds (Google how to change TdrDelay in registry) 2. Go to Nvidia Control Panel → Set default GPU to your dedicated, not auto-select Do this DAY ONE or every game will crash and you’ll think you need to RMA. Hardware is amazing once you fix ASUS’s lazy configuration. Do better ASUS.”
