Do i need the cement, ridgidizer and this?** A: I used all three it was my first time using them the ridgidizer I found useless the cement is good if you need to biuld up some thickness the ITC=100Ht is a good overcoat as well it sticks to everything well and apples easy **Q: Can you build forge with castable refractory and then apply this to be able to handle higher temps?** A: The coating will increase the temperature of the forge. Using the castable refractory will make a heavy forge that will take more time, and more gas, to get upto heat than using manufactured 'soft' fire bricks. I used 2800 degree soft bricks (dry stacked within a frame), with a replaceable floor (on top of the soft bricks) of half thick hard bricks.
