This is something everyone should have in their pantry. It's a cooking essential. In gluten free baking, it's a game changer. Adding just a little teaspoon or two to most of your baked goods, makes them much lighter. Gluten free baked goods have a tendancy to be Heavy. If you've ever used the gluten free baking flour called Cup4Cup, you know that it's pretty good and makes for lighter baked goods. One of it major ingredients is Dry or Powdered milk. I usually purchase King Arthur's Flour, because it's a fraction of the price. So, a little of this with it, really helps. Of course it's good to keep on hand for a milk replacement, too. I don't buy regular cow's milk, because I use plant milks. But, you don't want to use only plant milk in all your cooking. If I'm making gluten free gravy or sauces, this works much better than almond milk. It gives it more of an authentic taste. This is a good product and a lot cheaper than most. I recommend it and thank you for reading my review.

Swiss Miss non-fat dry milk has become a pantry staple in my kitchen for both baking and quick breakfasts. The powder dissolves easily in hot or cold water, and I appreciate that I can make just as much as I need—no more worrying about milk going bad or running out unexpectedly. The flavor is clean and neutral, not too sweet or “chalky” like some dry milks I’ve tried, and it works great not only for drinking but also as an ingredient in breads, muffins, casseroles, and sauces. I find it especially handy for making oatmeal creamier, adding richness to baked goods, or using in homemade hot cocoa when I want a little more creaminess without the fat. It also stretches the shelf life of recipes that call for regular milk, since I can mix it up in seconds and keep the rest sealed for months. The resealable package keeps the powder fresh and clump-free, and it’s budget-friendly compared to buying gallons of milk that end up spoiling. For families, bakers, or anyone prepping for emergencies, Swiss Miss dry milk is versatile, reliable, and always delivers consistent results. Five stars from a busy grandmother always looking for ways to save time and money in the kitchen!

Good taste, easy mix and nice price. Only problem is foaming when mixing, takes some time to settle down and get rid of foamy bubbles on top.

Purchased the 12.9oz sized container in anticipation of “the blizzard of the century”, January of 2026. Perfect sized container, (with re-sealable lid)per the Swiss Miss website the container should make 15-20 cups of milk total. I prefer low fat milk, so I added less powder and more water. It’s surprisingly good tasting overall-more like skim, I’d say, than whole milk. Like others, I tasted it first plain, then tried it with a couple of drops of pure vanilla. (I think I prefer it plain). I found it blended easier when I mixed it with warmer water… but I don’t care for warm milk. After trying a whisk to blend and smooth it, I broke out my small hand blender/ that did the trick. No more lumps or loose powder. I gotta say, its appearance looks like milk, smells like milk, and actually tastes sort of like milk! There’s just something about it though… maybe just KNOWING it’s powdered, is just a little off putting for me. Overall, if I knew another storm was anticipated or I was going to be unable to get to the supermarket, I’d buy it again. But if I DO have a choice of real cows milk over powdered, I’d buy the real thing… every single time. 80calories per serving, 0% fat, 2%cholesterol, 5% sodium, 4% carbs, 16% protein. At 38 cents a oz, it’s a good value for the price.
