My aunt loves this cup. She has dementia and was having difficulty lifting her drinking glass. She is doing much better.

I received the item and it was perfect for my dad. He controlled the liquid. He was swallowing to prevent him from choking.

Ordered for a family member with dementia and dysphagia.7 am visually impaired and thought this cup would release a small amount of water at a time. Instead the cup requires sucking. She does not have the strength to pull on it. I believe her caregivers purchased a much less expensive toddlers cup which allows them to control the sip size.not

Dysphagia Cup for Adults I have a condition called EoE. When I'm having a flair swallowing food and liquid can be very difficult. I ordered this cup for the bad days. I've used it a few times now with great success. The main mouthpiece on the lid is comfortable to drink from. Theres plenty of space for your nose to fit. You can move the cup without having to move your neck. And that's a really nice feature to have. I've never used the attachment piece meant for laying down so I can't speak about that part. But the lid does pop on easily. Assistance may be needed if they have arthritis or diminished hand strength. The seal works well. I've never experienced any leaks or dripping. The double handles are another great feature. Gripping is easy with one or both hands. The handle openings are nice and large too. That makes it possible to slip hands in and hold the actual cup if you want to. The measurement lines are very helpful. And this can hold a fair amount of liquid. On days when I can't eat solid food, I'll make broth to drink. I let it cool down to warm and then fill this cup. When I'm finished, I soak this in a sink of hot dishwater. And rinse well. It comes out perfectly clean every time. My broth has some seasoning in it. Sometimes there are little flakes that can be left behind. That's why I soak all of the pieces immediately after. I wanted to share that for anyone who can't eat solid food. You can still enjoy the flavor of soup with this cup. My one complaint is that if knocked over the vent hole will leak. I did knock this over on my desk once. I picked it up immediately, but not everyone can do that. For people with mobility or reaction time issues; I can see this being a problem. On the upside. The lid did stay on and in place.

I was very disappointed that this cup leaked / dripped thin liquid (like water, coffee, apple juice) Anyway I took the lid off and put back on, different placement, cleaned the cup lip and lid, still dripped. $36.00 and it leaks!

Mug did not improve my father’s ability to swallow. There was no video of anyone actually drinking from the mug.
