What is the difference between this product and gu roctane energy gel?

The texture is quite different, this is liquid, not a gel.

What are the advantages of GU in liquid form over its original gel concoction?

SO much easier to eat/drink. I just started using the liquid form and love it. It’s easy to drink, no need to add water to wash it down. I love the regular GU also but the liquid one is amazing and a game changer if you are out somewhere and may not have much access to water

Buyers only; How's the coffee taste?

not good. it tastes like an artificial flavoring that was made to mimic vending machine coffee. the kind of cheap vending machine coffee that uses a squirt of laboratory made concentrated coffee flavored liquid and adds hot water. all of the "GU liquid energy" flavors that I've had were chemical tasting, bad enough so I've never had them again.

I really like the liquid GU’s over the gels. I find it a lot easier to take in while running. The variety pack was nice and a good value. They don’t have all the flavors locally (they have more gels- ew!) I tried coffee for the first time, and I’m not sure I would have chosen that flavor at the store even if they had it. It’s lovely- the flavor of a slightly sweet iced coffee! I’m normally caffeine-free in my daily life; I only use while distance running. It was plenty of caffeine to keep me going during the Seattle Half. Also worked for my daughter who has caffeine daily, so the level must be good.
