And it's the dominant smell in my cupboard now despite being tightly closed. I think the taste is familiar from bought baked goods, that presumably use this and shortening instead of butter. It is a VERY large bottle. The smell of the butter extract is strong so it will come out in your baking well. I've used this to make coffee syrups and it works well.
