I recommend that you do not buy this model kit. 1. The scale is way too small to work with: it really should be a 1/96 scale 2. The instructions are minimal and confusing: it almost like not having any instructions 3. The materials at this scale break easily during construction 4. The quality of the materials is subpar: threading is very poor quality 5. If you want total frustration, then this kit is for you

not a bad kit for the price, but you do have to interpret the instructions a bit and wing it a few times. overall a good kit for the price though. great quality material and well cut. get a good set of tweezers, its smaller than you think.

First the good parts: It has good laser cutting work. Most of the parts are of good quality. The tiny copper hull plates look cool (these are the right size for this scale). Now the bad parts: This is a very difficult scale to work with. The decks are barley 1/3-inch apart. The framework is very fragile. Some of the parts included with this model are oversized. The companion stairway only has 4 steps instead of eight due to the thickness of the material. There are some historical inaccuracies in the model design. The lower gun deck is not right. There should be three sizes of cannon, but the model only has one size that is too long. The British flag is only printed on one side. There should be some pumps around the main mast, but these were omitted. The instruction sheet has a series of tiny color photos, yet it is not always clear what they want you to do with each step. The positions of the gun ports appear to cut through the ribs, but this is unclear. These is no guide about what colors to paint this model. I found these design problems so difficult that I gave up and threw the kit in the trash.

The wooden parts are so small, and very brittle. With 60+ years of model building experience behind me I didn't make the following decision lightly. I kept other components from this kit to be used in other projects and threw the wooden pieces away. Don't waste your time and money.
