I got the extra-large trap — the biggest one. Baited it with bacon and caught one giant cat right off the bat. We thought, “Alright, that’s probably it,” since we were really aiming for the dog that’s been killing my chickens. But on day two, we caught two young cats at the same time. The trap definitely works — it’s just a total pain to bait! I feel like a trapped animal myself, crawling inside just to get the bait in place. But it works, durable, easy to assemble, its not finicky- just putting the bait in is a pain in the arse- wish there was a little side door. Update: We developed a solution for baiting- place the bait in a bowl, and put it on a small rack or shovel to hover it in (instead of crawling inside).

The assembly was confusing but I watched the YouTube video a bunch and finally got it. It didn't feel as secure as I would have liked so I put a bunch of zip ties on the joints for my safety. Now it was time to test. My highly food motivated female rottie cautiously went inside to get a treat but didn't step on the plate. She just backed right out. Putting cardboard along the bottom is essential. The dog just won't step on the pressure plate if it's not covered. Using this method I was able to catch a bunch of cats, a pitbul, and a medium size Shepard/hound mix. Now there is one more dog to catch...a large aggressive German Shepard. He went in the cage this morning and I thought I had him. (I was watching the camera footage from inside) by the time I got my slippers on and ran out there he was out of the trap The door shut on his butt and didn't latch. The door only latches if it's slammed down and nothing is in the way. I greased it up and will try until I get him I guess but I may end up having to buy a larger product. Ultimately I wish the trap was taller and little longer. I think dogs would be more comfortable entering it if they didn't have to crouch.

Although this COULD catch a coyote, we purchased it to trap a stray cat that has been hanging around for over a year b/c coyotes are taking out neighborhood pets. Not blaming the coyotes for needing to thrive. We now have a sweet kitty, who is now chipped and vaccinated and enjoying the inside life. Yes, we made sure as best we could to ensure she wasn't someone's pet. We went big so we could make it more inviting to walk into for kitty. Price became priceless knowing kitty (Lady Parmalade) isn't a pile of coyote dung.

It was huge, but I sent it back because it was too big to transport, lol. But it was of good quality

Our hunting land was being over ran with dogs on our hunting property, they were casing deer and killing turkeys, our cameras showed over 50 videos of dogs on the property from the previous month. We I watched them and discovered there were 9 different dogs. This trap is light, but it is effective, we have caught 3 dog the first two weeks at night that were chasing deer. The dogs were chasing game at night, no hunter wants to pay for a hunting lease and to come at 5 AM in the morning when stray dogs have been chasing their game all night. After catching a few dogs and getting the local Marshall to come pick them we found that word got out and that local people that were letting their dogs out at night started complying with the county ordnance leash law. This turned out to be a good investment for our hunting club.
