These side Camara's are great, they really make driving our RV Safer and easier. It covers the blind spots that my mirrors don’t cover.

Looked good until I drove a few feet. Right camera works fine. Left drivers side periodically gets horizontal lines with a color change. I removed the camera cable reinserted and pressed the reset button but still comes & goes. I did connect the 3rd provided camera and didn't see this problem. I haven't swapped out the cameras yet. Hopping to find a solution first. Chat helped took me to an AI. After tapping on the left camera I see lines appear across the screen. Left camera has a short. So I’ll need to replace using the 3rd camera. I mounted my cameras under my C8 Corvette mirror holders. Didn’t want to mark my vette paint on the side of my car. I noticed the fish eye lens creates an optical illusion the near car is further away. I’ll need to see if the zoom feature will stop this illusion. It’s so bad by time you can figure out the distance the car is next to your car. I’ll increase stars if the replacement camera works ok. Updated 3-3-2026 Installed the reserve camera in place of the left camera because of the short causing the camera to constantly snow up. Increase to 3 bars. Will not get 5 because of the camera failure and no attempt be the seller to replace. Plus no contact or help from the seller. There was an offer from Amazon for a refund, but didn’t want a refund. It might go to 4 stars over time. Functionally: Incredible night vision abilities of these cameras can’t be overstated! If I move on to a 360 Birds Eye camera system I’ll keep these and turn the camera forwards! This would be perfect for those on coming blinding headlights. Alignment can be tricky, but if placed mine under the side mirrors on my C8, so that could be my problem. Best if you can get 2nd person to hold and do the camera rotation. I’d recommend these as long as you’re not expecting any help from the seller/manufacturer. Update 3/24/26 Increased to 4 stars. I’m currently using the provided 3rd camera for the drivers side. I’m stunned by how good these cameras look. They’re better than anything on my $80K corvette. I’ve reached out to the seller to see if they sell an extension cable for the power. That cable isn’t very long, so you don’t have a lot of options for routing the power. I’ve been using the alert feature. It does allow for calibration to set sensitivity. It some times is better than my cars warning system, but doesn’t always work. Still nice to have an additional warning. I need to note my cameras are not on the side of the car as instructed, but are under the side mirror mounts. So my results may be different than normal. This is so the tape doesn’t hurt the cars paint in a visible area. I’ve had to remove and reinstall several times for a better view. This requires a plastic tool to gently separate the camera from the car. Fortunately, they provide several additional glue strips.

When you consider the price, this is an amazing piece of equipment. After spine surgery my range of motion (turning side to side) was significantly limited. My 2013 F-150 truck is a great vehicle and I have no intention of replacing it, but it does not have blind spot monitoring. I bought this system to overcome my limitations from the surgery. The good news: this is easy to install and does not require any drilling or other permanent alteration of the truck. The system operated as soon as the power cord was plugged into the 12 volt cigarette lighter port. The images displayed for both sides of the vehicle were clear and of HD quality. The not so good news: the firmware for blind spot detection considers trees, large signs and other stationery objects to be vehicles in the blind spots. The display beeps almost constantly, although it can be silenced. Also, in my truck the cigarette lighter port is energized at all times, and even when the system is turned off there is a current draw that could drain a weak battery. This system does function to help you see vehicles in the blind spots, and for that reason I will keep it, in spite of the design flaws.

I originally installed this in a full sized Ram pickup with towing gives you a huge blind spot that this system would help alleviate that. I found it was pretty useful even if I wasn't towing since I'm pretty high up and it would detect/show small cars next to me. My bigger issue though was not being able to see cars next to my 20ft enclosed trailer so I modified the wiring and made an extension to the trailer hitch (with another connector) and finally an extension from the back of the truck to the monitor. What a difference that makes! I can see everything to the side of the trailer and that makes it far more safer to make lane changes. The monitor is very solid - it's all aluminum so it can take some abuse if it ever falls out of the mount. They give you different mounting options as well as different power options (USB, cigarette lighter as well as direct power to your fuse box). In addition - which was totally unexpected is that they include an extra camera mount in the unfortunate case if one of your cameras gets damaged or lost. That extra camera can be easily modified to change orientation (you have a right or left view - and the camera can be rotated). Installation is technically pretty straightforward and should take about 2 hours to mount and route the wires. Here is the drawbacks of the system though. The blind spot warning is a bit erratic. It beeps at anything it thinks is in your blind spot including items like road signs, trees, garbage cans - etc. that are not in the way but far out. It got a bit annoying so I turned off the alert (which thankfully is an option). The warning technically could be useful but for me it doesn't make too much of a difference as I would look at the monitor as well as the side mirror to make sure there is no obstacle BEFORE I change lanes. That is what the system is really for anyway - to look at the monitor. Also, the wiring they give you will just barely stretch for a full sized pickup or maybe not fit something like a box truck or similar. Since they use non-standard connectors and the actual copper wire is very thin, it's quite a challenge to extend the wire even for those that are comfortable in doing electrical/electronics tinkering. I did cut the wire to do extensions from the trailer to the pickup and from the rear to the front - but it wasn't easy. In the end (for me) it was well worth the time as safety is the end game here and it worked out well. So although my modification was not the design of this system, I rate this 4 stars because the connections are not standard and if you have a larger vehicle, it may not fit/work.
