Great to improve piano practice
I've found this a really helpful little gadget for piano practice. I set it at 25 minutes and don't allow myself to get up from the piano until it 'dings'.

This is really nice looking, the perfect size, alarm is just the right sound level (not too loud, not so soft that I can't hear it in another room with the door open). This is especially helpful for multi-taskers and people who are constantly late to work/appointments. I leave it on all the time, and when I start something (food, washes), I just flip it over to the time I need. When I am getting ready to go somewhere, I flip it over to the time I need to ensure that I leave on time. It's perfect! Now, I read at least one scathing review that 1) stated that it was smaller than expected 2)was light and therefore seemed cheap 3)the alarm was scathingly loud. 4) The rattling was annoying. Quite honestly, I don't know what this person was talking about. 1) It is the perfect size. God, if it was bigger it would be ugly, obtrusive and, yeah, just no place to put it, lol. It is about the size of a baseball, only square, lol. 2) Yes, it is light. Doesn't take a ton of 1950s technology to make a clock/timer, lol. The technology inside of this probably takes up the space the size of your thumb (or less). 3) The alarm is the perfect volume. It is NOT loud at all. It is loud enough. And quiet enough. Maybe the same or louder than a wristwatch alarm. Not as loud as a phone alarm. 4) The rattling? Ok, there IS an accelerometer inside of this such that when you flip it, it automatically knows that it was flipped and which side it is on. That is the "rattling". So when you flip it, it might sound like there is something loose inside. That's it. It doesn't just sit there and rattle. It makes the noise when you flip it. Without it, you would have to set the timer each time rather than just flipping it. And no, it is NOT annoying in the least. Jeese. It's like when you put change in your pocket it clicks when you do. BD. The only thing that I would change/fix, is that occasionally it takes a few seconds for it to activate. Not that big of a deal. Flip it, walk away, and a few seconds later (maybe as much as 5-10 seconds) the timer starts. Same thing with the alarm. Not all the time, but sometimes, it takes several seconds for the accelerometer to "react" to the change. Anyway, I like it a lot and it's really helpful. I love that you just flip it for it to come on. Better than an hourglass timer cus it has different time segments, a programable time segment and it beeps :D

Got the miracle cube as present for my husband for when he makes his French press coffee. The 1 and 2 minute interval is perfect for coffee making purposes and the cube is easy to use. Worked like a charm for the first 2 weeks (thus the 2 stars) but than had occasional problems when timer wouldn’t start when cube was turned or the buzzer wouldn’t turn off. Have tried to return it (within the 30 day period) because of the glitching but having difficulty getting seller (What America Buys) to agree to refund. I’v appealed through Amazon’s A to Z Guarantee so hopefully will get refund and reimbursement of shipping costs.
