Straight from the back of the package: " offers 4 easy sampling methods. The first two air sampling methods can indicate the presence of a hidden or an elevated mold problem in as little as 48 hours. If mold growth occurs after the air sample is taken, an OPTIONAL LAB ANALYSIS ( $40) is available which identifies the type ( Genus name) of mold present. If you see mold growing in your home or office, the third or fourth method allows you to take a sample and send it to our laboratory for analysis to determine the type of mold present. A minimum of 2 test kits are required for air sampling in order to compare indoor to outdoor air quality. Hope that helps answer your questions.

Should I buy two of these if I know I'm going to be sending it in for further analysis?

Yes. I would. I took two samples. I did one air sample that showed nothing and I did one swab sample that filledThe Petri dish with multiple types of mold.

I was getting ready to mail my test sample and noticed water in my dish. Is this the solution melting after 4 days can I still mail it? Its dripping!

No, neither of mine (study one & control one) ever had water in them. Since the testing cost way more than the actual Petri Dish itself I suggest you purchase another Petri Dish and repeat the study.
