According to the CDC and EPA only a few chemicals actually repel ticks. Permethrin, Picaridin, etc. It is great for flying biting insects - especially mosquitoes. The smell is better than your usual off smell because they use essential oils and I think there is a lemon or lemongrass oil in it which makes it quite pleasant. I spayed my little one down and let him into the jungle ( Our backyard) and after an hour of playing, I checked him and to my surprise not a single mosquitoe bite. So I was one happy mama.
