my 15 yr old cat doesnt have many teeth and the consistency seems to be hard for him to get down. can i mix it with water or something?

I have a 16 year old female cat with mouth sores, so she has trouble even eating soft cat food. I mix a supplement like this with Gerbers meat (usually chicken or turkey, sometimes ham or beef) pureed babyfood, along with the "gravy" strained from Friskies canned food, like their mixed grill, to add feline diet essentials like taurine, and add chicken broth topper or bone broth, resulting in essentially a liquid diet. She has been doing well on this for over a year now. I was using "Miracle Vet" for a supplement, for over a year, but they recently changed something and she throws up if I add that, so I will be looking to add this as a replacement, since I have used this in the past as a supplement for another elderly cat.

Why does it state on back under nutritional information. "Supplement for use in dogs" is this an error?

No this is not an error, but IS misleading by this company.  The reason for this is that originally this product said "for Dogs and Cats".  They found that a lot of people would NOT give it to their dogs because it had "Cats" on it and dogs should NOT eat cat food regularly (but it was MADE for both dogs and cats).  And some people would not give it to their cats because it had dogs on it.  If you check the label??????  It is EXACTLY the same for either dogs or cats, ingredient wise.  I buy either one and give it to both my dog, and my 2 cats.  Not a real problem, just a marketing thing!!!  And if it makes you feel better (emotionally) get the one for dogs (because cats can have dog stuff) and give it to your cat! I understand your confusion because I researched this in depth and spoke to my vet about it as well.

Can you mix it in with wet food?

Yes.  After my cat stopped licking it from the tube, I did mix it with her wet food, and that worked well.
