These use ordinary AAA batteries so they are easy to get. The alarms work well and I have have them installed on both my ordinary fridge door and its freezer. There are adjustments for the delay before alarm, and its loudness. The small magnetic part goes on the door edge and the other larger parts go on the side of the fridge. When the door moves away from the main body of the fridge, the timer starts and then will beep if the door is still open when it times out. It uses a Hall Effect transducer to detect the break in the magnetic field. The adhesive is super strong. When the time comes to change batteries the main body of the large piece must be moved upward to disengage it, so make sure when you mount the unit that there is no obstruction to doing so just above it; the magnet has no such concern. It works well and looks good, and is cheap for what it does. Get two for a regular fridge freezer; cheaper still!

This product was a life saver and was ready to go right out of the box. We could not use life alert as our Loved one continued to push the emergency button when she was having trouble with her TV. This one calls the me in the kitchen or other room to walk in and assist. The bell shut off is not connected between the units so my only recommendation for upgrade is to connect the bell actions. Our solution was a constant ring on the main house bell and a single ring in the other rooms. The volume was adjustable so we could here the continuous bell even from our bedroom. There are many bell sounds or ringtones to choose from including a christmas song. The watch was a good size even for our very small loved one and the extra caregiver bells were set up in the places the Hospice teams spends time with her. This is an excellent in-home product that is very simple and safe to use. It works on home wi-fi and can be used with multiple receivers on different floors so the caregiver will never miss a call for assistance. My grandmother’s house/property is located behind our property about a 100 or more feet away and this unit works amazingly well. I was worried that it would not have a strong enough signal to get through the walls of both of our houses but it does and was so easy to install/get up and running. She is not always able to get to a phone when she needs help and has a phone that frequently stops working so having this SOS button on a lanyard around her neck ensures that grandma can alert us when she slips/falls and can’t get up resulting in getting stuck on the floor sometimes over night. We can now rest easy knowing that she can always alert us when she needs help. Would highly recommend!
