Review: I have a 16 foot above ground with a saltwater system and this pool shock is great for keeping the algea managed as well as opening the pool for the season. I also use it throughout the season as my pool gets used and starts to get behind keeping the water clean as storm water and wind brings things into the pool. Especially in late July as the water gets really warm this helps me stay on top of algae blooms and it has been effective for green as well as mustard algae both of which cause problems where I am. I just bought 10 for this season and it should last me through the season with plenty left over to open the pool next year. Great stuff and the before and after pictures are not fake, I had the same experience this year. I had a pool full of what looked like split pea soup when I took the cover off this Spring and put the shock in and hooked up the filter and ran it overnight after dumping one of these in and the next day It was crystal clear with just dead algae on the bottom to vacuum up. I use a whole one at the start of the season and about half for each shock every couple of weeks as maintenance. My pool is a 16 foot Summerwaves that I converted to an Intex filter and saltwater system. I am concerned it may damage the vinyl liner.** A: I use it in two different vinyl pools. These are not inground but they are common $500 pools and one of them is actually a hot tub. Absolutely zero stains. This product works great. I'm not totally sure but I'm pretty sure the only thing that's going to stay in your pool is if you leave chlorine tablet on the floor. I did exactly that once by mistake and that chlorine tablet left a 2 ft size white mark. So be careful with your chlorine and that's really it. **Q: Do you use this before/after or with the Chlorinating tablets?** A: Hi, We are the manufacturer of Clorox Pool and Spa products. Chlorinating tablets should be used in order to maintain a 1-4ppm residual in the pool. Our shock products are meant to boost the chlorine level to oxidize material that accumulates over time like oils, greases, algae, bacteria, etc. If you're setting up a pool or are trying to clear cloudy water from over the winter, then you can add the shock before having tablets in the pool to eliminate any contaminates that may have accumulated. However, once the pool is crystal clear, then the shock can be added on a weekly basis (with tablets in the pool) to maintain clarity and to prevent contaminate accumulations. I have an index pool and it works fantastic. I use half then wait 24 hrs and test again. I had to switch and after lots of searching (there are some very expensive ones out there!) I happened on this, read through the reviews and based on a decent price point settled on it. Oh my god! After just one application, what a difference. The water, which I thought was pretty clear before, went 100 times more clear. Yeah, I should’ve known the small bits of algae here and there were not normal but I guess I just accepted it. No more! This is how the pool should look. I can see through to the bottom of the 10 feet deep end to the drain, so clear and in focus as of it were near the surface.
