Replacement is grate fit . No problem covering hole . A little working with key ring bazel covers well.

I used this on a 1 3/8 thick drawer. Its not made for that. I had to drill the inside face of the drawers with a one inch bit so that the nit would go onto the lock. Basically you predrill the with an 1/8 bit. Drill the back side about an 1/8 inch deep, then drill from the front side with a 3/4 bit all the way through. You have to use the longer tongue on the back and slightly bend it to catch the inside of the drawer. But it works GREAT!!

RV owners - do not buy this if you are trying to switch to a lock other than the CH 751 everyone else has a key to. Although the key has a different code stamped on it, the CH751 key opens it. Otherwise these seem of decent quality.

Measure carefully the actual door or drawer that the locks will be installed in. Easy install, fits close. They are keyed alike which was a must. Good product.

The diagram suggests that this will work in a drawer up to a 1 1/4” thick, but be mindful of the warning that it is designed for a maximum of 1”. I missed that when I ordered it. I was able to make it work on a 1 3/8” drawer, but I had to do some minor modifications (drilling one side slightly larger, and bending the cam). It works, though!

This was exactly what I needed. I haven't had many opportunities to use it, but so far, it works great.
