Top Quality
This no gimmicky toy. Itโs a solid, built to last, piece of training equipment. I bought it to use on my gym off-days and for travel. It has two grip position points, which are very effective. It has a unique weight distribution configuration that uses the inner frame of the door and doesnโt stress the molding or other exterior points. Itโs simple to assemble, with the included wrench, in a few minutes. Great quality for the price.

Fits great on my doorways. Sturdy materials to support a large person.
There are so many reviews of the Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar that I don't know what else I can say, other than the reports of this product's great quality are not exaggerated. After having read several reviews, good and bad, I knew that I needed to establish that my door frames were the right width for the workout bar so I measured the door frame width and the thickness of the molding on the upper part of the door. The door frame was about 32" wide and the molding just under 1/2" thick - which seemed to be right for this product based on the reviews of others, so I ordered it. The Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar arrived a day earlier than estimated in great condition. There were no signs it had been tampered with or previously opened. It came with the useless "Free Mail in Ab Strap" offer. But since the shipping and handling is $8 and you can get ab straps at Wal-Mart for just as cheap, there was no incentive there. Assembly was very easy. The bolts fit into place with no problems. Previous reviews that mentioned the little wrench that was included being of poor quality were correct. Having read those reviews, I didn't expect much out of it. I hand tightened the bolts in place then used the included wrench to tighten gently without over-stressing the tool. But, still, by the time I was done, it was beginning to warp and wear out. It's a one use only implement, I'm afraid. I finished up tightening using a wrench of my own. Once assembled, I placed it in the doorway to a back room in the house. It held in place just fine and fit square on top of the door frame and flush against the wall on the door hinge side. The pull up bar's padded ends fit square against the door frame with no overhang - just the right size. I was nervous when actually putting my weight on it. I weigh just over 220 lb. I feared the crackling sound of wood moving and breaking and drywall disintegrating. I slowly started putting my weight on the workout bar. No crackles, snaps or pops. It held me and allowed me to do 3/4 of a pullup (I'm a work in progress), a complete chin up and several negative motions. I also just hung from it several times. There was a slight blemishing of the paint on the wall just above the frame - but I can only blame my weight and the materials used in my home's construction. It's not the fault of the workout bar. It's sturdy materials did their job - there was no bending of the bar that I could notice as I tested it out. Time will tell what kind of padding I might need to supplement the placement of the bar. All in all, this is a great piece of equipment. People need to measure their door frame's width and thickness before purchasing the workout bar and assess the quality of their location's construction. P.S. I did not find the metal clip/door frame wedge included in the package to be necessary.

Good pull-up bar, but certain precautions necessary
I purchased this in August of 2015 and it has served its purpose well. Assembly was easy. If I remember correctly, it took me less than 30 minutes. I donโt use it for anything else other than pull ups and chin-ups, but Iโm sure itโll be good for pushups and sit-ups. I question how effective dips would be on this since it seems a bit too low to do a full movement dip. It has handled my weight (145 lbs) well and has not started to bend or sag. I do have a couple of complaints, the padding on the bar where it meets the door frame should be thicker. Mine degraded without me noticing and the actual solid bar started to push against my doorframe. Now my doorframe is damaged. I recommend putting a sock between the doorframe and the bar to provide more padding for protection. My other complaint is that the flat piece that goes against the wall above the doorframe could discolor your wall. It did mine. I recommend putting something in between the wall and the flat plastic part to prevent against this. Other than that, this is a well built product that performs as advertised.

Just about perfect so far.
Just what I needed. And the price that I paid on Amazon was actually more affordable than Walmart and a couple of dollars less than it is now. So I guess I ordered mine at the right time, a time where Amazon was feeling a little generous I guess. I've only had this item for like 40 mins, and I had a good feeling about it from the start. Assembly was pretty simple(took about 10-12 mins), and all parts were there except for the ab straps which I don't really need anyway; because with this I can easily improvise. It fits nicely above the closet doorway which is about 2.5 ft wide or about 2ft. 7in., and it holds my weight very well; I'm 180. I still have yet to try it out on a wider door frame, but I'm sure that it will fit above the other doors as well. A very nice tool for fitness enthusiasts and a great way to build strength and muscle when the dumb bell set just isn't enough anymore. A very nice and affordable gift for someone who likes to workout a lot. I've been wanting a chin up bar for a long time, and now I finally have one and I love it. It's so easy to use, another plus. Iron Gym is my new best friend. Highly recommended. Money well spent, what more can I say? ***UPDATE*** After trying this product on 3 different doorways, it works on all 3 and each are different widths. However, I did notice how it will leave small indentations in the side molding of the door frame and sometimes black scuff marks on the paint. The foam grips and padding seem like they might last for a couple of months, but I do intend to improvise when they wear out. I'm about to place a thin piece of padding in between the frame of the door to prevent more serious damage, because I do believe with heavy usage the Iron Gym will do further and more noticeable damage to the door frame. Thinking about my weight, the natural effects of wear and tear and my passion for working out; I'm going to have to take certain measures to ensure that I do not cause serious structural damage to the door frame. This will probably do damage even quicker with heavier people, so keep an eye on the condition of your door frame after every workout. Other than that, it's still a great product that I intend to use every day.

Great workout tool, but even better for high energy kids
This is a great product. It's been used for about 5 months, with no visible wear to the grips or the door trim. No installation involved! It is very sturdy - suitable for adults and children. We only use it hung up in a doorway, though it is also designed to be used for floor exercises. It's used many times every single day, by my son who gets sudden bursts of energy and needs a quick, convenient outlet for them. Lacking arm strength, he typically does flips, rather than pull ups, but it still depletes his energy (and strengthens his core) so it's a WINNER! The door will not shut while this is hanging in the doorway, but that is easily rectified by lifting the pullup bar up to remove it. There is a safety clip that gets inserted into the trim that runs along the top of the doorway, but this clip in no way contributes to the strength of the bar when it is in use, or the stability of the bar when it is not in use (as long as it isn't bumped). It is merely used to make sure that when the bar is removed, it is not removed by rocking the bar backwards, because that would cause it to fall on you if not for the presence of the little clip. It may look flimsy, but it is more than enough to get the job done, and I love how it does not need to be hammered or screwed or in any other way installed into the door frame. It simply slides in and out. Take it out when you take the bar down, because it will fall out without the bar to keep it in place. To remove the bar from its position in the doorway, you simply stand on the side of the doorway where the safety clip is installed and lift the bar straight up and over the clip. Already supporting the weight of the bar, there is no danger of it falling on you!

Low quality, deceptive pictures.
The horizontal chin-up bar consists of two pieces, which fit together loosely and are weak. Despite weighing less than 70 kg (150 lbs), the bar already bends in the middle. Additionally, some promotional images deceptively show a one-piece construction. The plastic bar has square holes designed to retain the bolts and prevent them from turning while tightening the nuts. However, the holes immediately deformed when the lock nuts offered resistance. I had to remove the caps on the elbow bars, use needlenose pliers to hold the bolts in place from the inside, and then tighten the nuts.
