Does this brush really work or does it hurt the animal?

I think it works really well. My girl doesn’t like being brushed in general, but she tolerates this. Just careful not to use it too much because it will pull too much hair out. Great for mats and getting a thick undercoat thinned for the summer.

I know it does a great job removing hair from the dog, but have you found it actually reduce shedding?

There is no brush, or anything else for that matter, than can reduce the amount of fur an animal sheds. All we can hope for is to reduce the amount of shedding that falls out all over our houses. By regularly brushing it out before it falls onto our floors is our goal.

Thinking of buying for my dogs. Does this brush seem to be painful to use on your pets?

It probably depends on your breed of dog I have a Golden Retriever with a very thick coat. I've not had the "brush" (it's more like a rake) very long but my dog has shown no signs of it hurting her in any way. I've recommended it to a friend who has a Corgi, but I don't think she's received it yet. I highly recommend it if you have a dog with a thick, heavy coat.

Will this work on pitbulls ?? Or any recommendations?

I have 2 dogs, Golden-doodle who has a tight curl to his hair and this did not work and I have a Shitzu who has thinner straight hair and this item worked really, really good and did not cause him pain while using it. Took knots out without any real effort. So no to curly hair yes to straight.
