No sun required
I bought this product as my second car can be left undriven for weeks on end and its security soon runs the battery flat. Where it is parked gets little direct sun. I leave this solar powered charger resting in the front of the car and it's battery has never gone flat since. And its so simple to plug in and on. A great, efficient and economic solution to a rarely used second car. Just check or change your cigarette lighter to always live.

Keeps a 12V Medium Sized Car Battery Topped Up
This works successfully at maintaining a trickle charge to the battery on my Mazda 3. It is important to recognise that it won't charge up a flat battery. I could not use it with the in-car socket (it disconnects when the ignition key is removed) so I had to make a "custom" charge lead to connect direct to the battery, complete with in-line fuse. I believe the instruction leaflet should give some guidance on this, but it doesn't, so you have to improvise. But the panel does work. Not so sure it is the cheapest out there - I think if you shop around you will save a bit, but they will not have the Sealey name.

Solar panel
It does work but it is really slow trickle charge, would of been better spending a bit more and getting a better one

Good piece of technology
Waited a few weeks to review this item as there is no indication of whether the car battery is charging-such as a light that changes colour. I was really pleased that my old MPV started first time after weeks of non use. Battery often gone flat by that time and need the AA to visit. The charger seems to have done a really good job. I paid attention to comments online that all trickle chargers should be disconnected prior to starting the engine to avoid reversing the charge. I was sceptical about this charger working but as I needed to park my car a distance from the house and had no mains power, I decided to try a trickle charger. Would recommend based on experience but the product could be improved by having a light which indicated status of battery life.

It works perfectly at a great price and very robust
Excellent practical and functional charger. lightweight is a bonus. Easy to use for Motorhome top up and any car being left for periods of time. Well packaged and swiftly delivered following the order. I like the letter enclosed from the company which was a personal touch.

Way under powered
Sealey are usually reliable. This has taken weeks to charge a small discharged 12v lithium battery and it still isn't fully charged. Nice looking piece of carp

Car battery booster
During lockdown mum's car is sat there and needs use just to go for blood tests at 2, 3 or 4 week intervals. Of course the battery has been flat on the last two attempts! This was purchased placed on the dash, connected to a live cigaret lighter socked (has to be one that works when the car is off, i.e. not switched off when the car key is removed) and there you go. Her car is parked in strong sunlight for a few hours in the morning (when it is not hiding behind a cloud) and it seems to be enough to keep her going. I looked for an option to have a solar powered monitor and couldn't find one, so a trickle charge is next best option.
