Tailors Ham Holder

I have to admit I was worried when I saw, from the size of the box it was in, just how small this ham stand was. Then I remembered that I've had to replace not only my stand but also my old tailor's ham with new ones. And the newer hams are a couple of inches smaller than the old ones. So this little ham stand is actually the perfect size. I am impressed by the workmanship. Every surface and edge is smooth, every joint perfectly lined up, and it all fits together perfectly. The screws are deeply countersunk so that nothing could catch on a pressing surface. And, best of all, it's heavy enough to stay in place easily while moving fabrics around, even fairly heavy fabrics, without being so heavy I'd hate dragging it out of the closet. So I'm thrilled with it and would highly recommend it.

This is very high quality and my only regret is I didn't see myself needing this until after I had purchased some of the other wood pressing notions like a clapper, etc. If you are in the market for pressing notions and you've found this company: order as much as you can. They are excellent quality, ship quickly, and are built to last. You'll be handing this off to a grandchild in 40 years and it'll still be perfect.

I don't know how I got along without this very useful sewing tool! No more burned fingers from manipulating fabric and steaming with a hot iron on my tailor's ham. The wood is perfectly smooth and the screws on the bottom are recessed. I expect this tool will last a lifetime (or at least my remaining years as a sewist!)

Works as it should. Took one star off since I had to lightly sand all the edges (to prevent fine fabrics from snagging).

Stunned by the quality. I got this and the clapper and will definitely go to Jackson's Woodworks for anything else they make that I need. So smooth and will never fall apart. It will absolutely outlast me. I feel properly outfitted for my couture sewing projects. Thanks a lot for doing exceptional work!

The tailor's ham holder is making the use of my tailor's ham much easier, freeing up my hands to manipulate sleeves and seams while pressing rather than trying to position the garment and the tailor's ham at the same time as I apply steam to the seams.

This ham holder arrived quickly and seems to be very sturdy, but I am waiting for the ham to arrive before I can truly evaluate the entire system. It seems to be exactly what I am looking for to press some odd seems and pieces of fabric.

I’m a true sewest and this ham holder works much better than the plastic one I had.
