Best bang for buck bt speaker with some really neat extra features
I wanted a bluetooth speaker to use in my workshop so I can listen to some music while I work, and since it can get kind of noisy when I'm using some equipment/tools I needed something that can get loud enough. Well let me just say that this guy definitely gets loud! The sound profile is definitely tilted towards bass heavy but doesn't distort or overwhelm the mids/highs either. Don't expect studio reference quality audio, it's tuned for fun punchy bass good for rock/metal/r&b/action movies/etc. If I had a potential complaint involving the audio it would be that even on the lowest volume it's quite loud, with volume adjustment steps being rather coarse. I want my music loud anyway so not a problem, but I can see cases where this might be a bad thing if you just want to listen to relaxing stuff in a quiet small room without disturbing your neighbors. When it arrived it was actually a bit larger than I thought based off the pictures on the product page but for me that doesn't matter too much as it's just gonna sit on a table and doesn't need to be transported or anything like that. As for build quality this thing is built like a tank. The construction is made of plastic and metal both of which are nice and thick/heavy. The passive radiators on the sides are mounted to strong rubber so I'm not really worried of them getting damaged in normal use. The speakers themselves are mounted behind a metal grill so that's also good. The buttons on top have distinctive shapes you can easily use without looking at them, with a satisfying clickiness. Controls are logical if you've ever used a similar speaker. The bottom has nice rubber feet to prevent any movement when it's belting out strong bass. The back ports are covered with a rubber flap that seals them from any liquid (the unit is apparently ip waterproof rated). Not sure if I'd ever use this in a wet environment but it's never a bad thing to know it'd stand a good chance of surviving and dunk in water. USB C is used for charging which was pretty quick, fully charging in about two hours. Battery life is good enough for me to use for a few hours a day for a week without hitting the low battery warning. Now that's with the rgb led's off, but apparently even with then enabled you can still expect on the order of 10 hours or so. There are a few light effect modes that'll change color and flash along with the music, which I guess is a neat party trick but not something I will often use. The downside I've noticed is if you set a specific color mode the speaker won't remember it if you power off and on again. Not a big deal for me but may be annoying if you use the lighting feature a lot which will require a few extra button presses to get to the setting you want. One feature I really like is the right speaker led will momentarily light up when adjusting volume to show you the level. Such a simple feature but useful. Bluetooth connection is solid with the few tablets and phones I've tested with. I really like that it has an auxiliary audio input jack to plug in older non-bluetooth devices. I've plugged in some high-end minidisc portables and they sound absolutely fantastic. Also has a micro-sd card slot that can play mp3s directly off a memory card, will probably never use that feature but cool that I can if I ever wanted to. So do I think it's worth the asking price? Well comparing with similarly sized and performing portable bluetooth speakers like jbl makes this guy is significantly cheaper, like half the price or less. Sure maybe other big brand name speakers sound richer or have more advanced features like apps to adjust more settings but I really just need a tough but loud speaker with good battery life that'll take some abuse but keep on ticking. So far this one ticks those boxes for me without breaking my wallet.

Little Powerhouse!
Size & build- It’s really small (2.5”x1.75”x1”) but you can feel the solid build. The retaining clip is very strong so it’s definitely not falling off whatever you clip it to. The material is nonslip so it’s not likely to slip from your grip. The speaker itself has a metal cover providing better protection over a standard plastic cover. Audio Quality- For such a little speaker, its audio quality is more than impressive. I tested it connected it to my phone and played some tunes and was highly impressed with such a rich deep sound, not tinny for sure. During phone calls, the callers voice was clear and crisp and they could hear me just as clear. Side note, my phone was in the house and I was outside with the speakers clipped to my shirt. I also BT connected it to my HAM radio so I could move around the house monitoring radio transmissions without blasting the volume of the radio. I could understand every transmission/conversation easily without bothering other members of the house. Controls- This is a tiny speaker comparatively so the buttons are appropriate for its size. On/Off and Volume Control are on the sides and though small I can perform everything I need to do with them with my average size fingers. The biggest button is on the front and is the main controller for my music and phone calls. It’s plenty big enough to perform call answering/ending and music Play/Pause functions. The Volume Up/Dn buttons control music track changes which I don’t do much of using my playlists. But as stated they’re easy enough to use when needed. Connection- Whether connecting to my phone or HAM radio the connection takes seconds. Much faster than the mid quality earbuds I own. Support- So there’s a little QR code in the clip to register the speaker for warranty. I didn’t have much luck reaching the website via the QR code. The instruction booklet provides a warranty registration email address but that site requires a code which didn't come with the speaker. The booklet also provided a customer support email address which I used to explain my warranty registration issue. In less than 24 hours I received a reply with the necessary code for the extended warranty (comes with a 1year, extended it to 2 years and 1x free replacement). So I was pretty impressed with the customer support response time but not so impressed with the reason I had to contact them. But it all worked out. Final thoughts- I just ordered a second one, what does that tell you? I’m very particular about everything I spend money on. I always try to get the best quality (within my price range) and I can confidently say I scored big on this little guy. I have 4 sets of earbuds that I use for calls and HAM radio monitoring. But they can become uncomfortable after a few hours and also prevent me from hearing normal sounds and conversations around me. This little powerhouse is the perfect alternative that suits my needs. I can’t imagine you’ll be disappointed.
