AHGB-10DWB Thermal Serve Carafe, 1.0 Liter, White, Made in Japan

We have been Zoji products' enthusiasts for quite a while. We buy them for ourselves and as gifts and pay for every single one. Never been disappointed. The quality may not be as high as it once was, but it's still far superior to the competition. It has been suggested that the change, if any, might be because although the parts may be manufactured in Japan, some products may be assembled elsewhere. This particular carafe, identical to others previously purchased, arrived in perfect condition and so far is functioning exactly as desired for our purpose. We use it only for hot coffee: we fill it up early in the morning, and is still smoking hot for the last cup with a snack in the afternoon. Yes, the mouth is small which helps keep the coffee hot; and yes pouring does not drain the last drop. We rinse it with filtered water and let it air dry overnight. Any drops of water that might remain in the container do not affect the taste of the coffee. Finally, the three black dots in the inside are welding points present in all glass lined thermos (otherwise the glass might shift and break a the least movement). Would we buy it again as it is right now? Absolutely.

My mom drinks hot water all day long and this thermal carafe works great! It keeps water hot for hours!

Chart shows temperature drop over time for full carafe (1 liter). Main source of heat loss seems to be the lid, which gets warm to the touch. The carafe has a rather narrow mouth (~3 cm diameter), which helps with heat retention but makes cleaning difficult.

Keeps my coffee super warm for at least 4 hours - haven't tested it long. It looks really nice and the material is easy to clean.

Keeps the hot beverage really hot. Clean and modern lines. The exterior finish is very nice. Highly recommend.

Nice look. Just for water

I purchased the Zojirushi AHGB-10DWB carafe. I had purchased a couple of other types from Zojirushii some years ago, and they didn't work out. I heard many people have a lot of good things to say about older products from Zojirushi as being better quality, but thought I would give this a last chance. I have always used carafes with a glass insulation so I am well aware how to use and take care of them. I was only able to use this carafe 3 times before it exploded. Hot coffee pouring out from the bottom all over my glass stovetop. Shocking is an understatement. Some commenters here have said the same, quality is down, this model explodes, possibly defective to begin with. Especially if commenters are saying like myself we are use to using glass insulation, then there is a problem on their end. I would highly advise against buying from this company until they improve their quality control.
