Wharfedale DX-2 5.1 Speaker System (White)

This speaker package is absolutely brilliant!It has really brought our TV experience to a new level. The sound is fantastic with good quality, solid speakers that in white, look really nice.Easy to put together and well boxed to protect them in transit.Comes with rubber feet to stand then on shelves or use the hook system on the back of each speaker.The woofer is incredible. For such a small compact unit it really rocks the lounge at times. It has a standby and will turn back on when it senses a signal. What i have noticed is that the cooling fins at the back stay slightly warm so I suspect it's using power in this mode. You can turn it off with the rocket switch though and my only criticism of this unit is that the switch is so low on the back, it will depend on where you position the woofer as to how awkward this will be turn off each night.... but that's a really minor point and more an FYI.I can't get over how much we are enjoying this system. A quality product from a known manufacturer at a fantastic price point.Just note. We added an extra two satellite speakers for the Atmos effect. This is definitely worth it.

Standard sized lounge with decent AV amp using Sky HD and Amazon 4K. Sound is good enough without spending a fortune. Look nice on the wall. Sub woofer needs some fine tuning as it was boomtastic but when I changed the settings it seems to have vanished. Also, sub auto on is handy as it is tucked away and previous unit was just left on.

I read strong recommending for these and the previous model DX-1 before importing this set.Sound: Pretty good with one exception: The two front speakers are same as all the satellite speakers and due to their small size, I think they lack some depth in sound. Youtube and other stereo audio relies on them.Installation: Outrageous is the word. The satellite speakers weight around 1.3kg and have a plastic wall hanger like a mirror on the wall. The manual decribes thread inserts for universal mount but no such exist! Detailed positioning guidelines become unpractical unless you're a carpenter.Wiring is also a mini project. Careful with kids, so they won't pull the wires as speakers are heavy.The product is made in China.Notice: 4 ohm impedance.I think they are lesser quality than the previous model (DX-1) which seemed to have prestigious, piano like finish with obviously expensive V-shaped and custom front panel design.Support: Contacted Warfedale twice but received no response - Not typical.Final verdict: Happy but tired of this project. Good luck!

Crap speakers sound good but can't handle one bit of bass especially on a good avr. Do not recommend if you like bass in your mind ranges.

Great sound system. High quality although I've not maxed the volume. Happy with how easy and light they were to install on the wall.

I was sceptical about buying in this range but needn’t have worried. The system returns a great sound and I am very happy.

Sadly mine arrived with a damaged subwoofer and am in the process of organising a refund. This has put me off buying large and expensive items online.
