The ladder sections bolt together with strong metal flanges and the platform/seat section has 2 sets of teeth gripping the tree. It uses 2 ratchet straps up top and two long ladder straps. Was easily put up by my wife and I and is very solid and secure.I am a big guy...around 300 and I climbed up and tried my best to shake and wobble it. Feels like standing on my garage floor. The seats are very comfortable and the mesh floor is very thick, no deflection. Foot rests are great too.The bottom of the platform is only 12 feet high, but the stand blends in so well I don't think it's a problem. The ladder is a little tricky to climb the first few times but you get used to it. The grip tape doesnt stay on, don't waste your time. Get a small can of herculiner bedliner and paint a few coats on the rungs. The only other issue is that when getting in and out the mesh floor is hard on the knees, but that is a universal problem and can be solved with a small rubber mat or something.Bottom line...buy it, you won't be sorry and you won't find a better thought out or more solid stand.*Edit* I have two of these now and couldn't be happier. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Meh, looks like a returned item. *by E*** on Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2019* I would have returned it but I already unboxed it in the woods and that would have been a pain.I am very familiar with tree stands and am quite mechanically inclined.Either I received a returned stand that had been assembled, or quality control is poor; possibly both.Many areas missing powder coat that looked like they had been previously inserted into Their counterparts. These areas and others had spots of rust as well.A couple areas of mesh on the mesh platform interfered with allowing bolt head to seat to the bar it was supposed to; mesh was attached too close to the bolt hole.One female section had been smashed or somehow deformed to the point that the male section would not insert. I used tools and a hammer to reshape it.The “V-bar” that rests against the tree at the top of the stand was wobbly even when bolted in as much as you can bolt it without deforming the metal. I don’t know if this is typical, but it was the only joined section that did this. It is also one of the most important sections for security.After setting it up it was stable enough that I will use it, but you can feel some flex in it. I weigh about 200 lbs. I would say my summit climber feels more stable than this stand.Overall I’m pretty ambivalent about it. For the price it is decent and about what I expected overall. If it had not come all dinged up with rust spots and missing powder coat I would have been much happier. If the V-bar didn’t wobble I would have more faith in the longevity of this set up.I set this up by myself, which isn’t too difficult if you are strong enough to lift it.Tools it says you need: 7/16 wrenches.Tools you should bring: 7/16 crescent wrench, drill with 7/16 bolt driver, hammer, block of wood/ 2x4 for hammering against it to seat sections, 20’ paracord for if you can’t reach around the tree to secure the top ratchet strap. Tie the paracord off at the top of the stand and throw it down, tie paracord to strap from ground, pull up strap end.I also needed to drill an additional hole in the stabilizing bar to get the length I needed for the tree I used, which was a large poplar. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Seat Cushion could be improved upon *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2018* Well built stand , fairly easy to assemble. It being a big stand makes its pretty heavy, especially if you are lugging it through the woods. It's pretty Roomy once all set up. I am literally sitting in this stand right now as write this review. My one gripe is the seat cushion. There is no middle Velcro strap on the top part of the cushion to keep the pad from sliding under the metal bar positioned by your lower back. Therefore as I lean back , the metal bar is digging into my lower back making it fairly uncomfortable. I'll most likely end up fortifying it some way to make sure this doesn't happen, but it is the first thing I noticed sitting in the stand for the first time today.
