FIRST, Remove the Plastic seal. DO IT NOW. That was only to protect it from BAD ODORS and any High Humidity, during Shipping. It's true it's in a card board box, but I'm more interested in the contents, which is a RAW, Sheng, Aged, Puerh Tea CUBE. It's still YOUNG, so don't expect miracles, but it is Mild and Drinkable. Suggest you buy TWO, to drink one now, and save the 2nd one for 10 more years, then try it, and see how much better it's become with Age. Remember, RAW Sheng Puerh Teas are FERMENTED, not Oxydized, like the other FIVE Asian Teas, which causes them to only last about 2 to 3 years, before becoming STALE, from exposure to Oxygen in the Atmosphere. THAT is why those Teas need to be SEALED, to Slow Down the Oxydation process. You cannot completely STOP it (unless you put it into a completely Hermetically Sealed 100% NITROGEN gas container, but most people don't have one, and cannot do that. -- NOT this RAW Sheng Puerh Tea. It MUST be allowed exposure to Dry Cool Air in a DARK place, to Breathe, and will only get BETTER with AGE, so let it do that for you. It MUST be allowed to "Breathe", in a Cool, Dry, Dark place. Do NOT Seal it in Plastic. This is still a "Living Thing", and the Fermentation Process is constantly going on, giving off Gas that must be Vented, in a COOL, DRY, DARK place, or MOLD and/or FUNGUS will start to grow. Do NOT Seal this. Let it Breathe. It's still ALIVE. Put it away in a COOL, DRY, DARK place for another 10 more years, then let it REWARD you with a Better RAW Sheng Puerh Tea that it is. There are RAW Sheng Puerh Teas over 50+ years old, and cost THOUSANDS... if they were properly kept. fyi. Google "TEA HORSE TRAIL", which was the Trade conducted between the Imperial Chinese Government and Tibet, trading RAW Sheng Puerh Tea for Tibet Horses, for use in the Imperial Chinese Army, to Fight in Wars, since the TANG Dynasty, about 700AD. Tibet Horses are Very Strong with High Endurance, because of the High Altitude Air of Tibet (over 10,000+ feet), and clearly Superior to any other horses that were in Ancient China back then. You do not want your horse to become Exhausted Fast in a War Situation. Tibet Horses did not do that, and THAT is why RAW Sheng Puerh Teas were so valuable for Trade. It took 8 months to WALK the "TEA HORSE TRAIL", which went from Puerh City, Yunnan Province, China, over the Himalayan Mountains, to Tibet, do the TRADE, then another 8 months to WALK BACK to Puerh City, Yunnan Province, China. According to the description, this tea has been aged for 16 years, not a long time, but it fits the price. This pu'erh tea is mild over all, with the strongest flavor in the 4th & 5th brew. I beleive the trees are 300 years old, because the flavor is simple and consistent, unlike some of the modern sophistcated varieties. Good price for a half kilo.

It's a good value for the money, coming in a large 500g cube. It's decent quality tea; probably best at second or third infusion. Distinctive and noticeable Cha Qi. Flavor is fairly neutral but mild; Mushroomy is the most notable characteristic of the first couple infusions, with very mild sweetness after. Not much in the way of fruity or spicy characteristics. Very mild and, honestly, unremarkable for a ripe tea. Perhaps a slight bitterness for the first infusion. Rinsing once or twice is absolutely necessary for this one. It does have a nice chewy mouth feel. Overall, if you're looking for acceptable quality at a cheap price, this will give you what you want. But spending just a little bit more on a higher quality tea will likely give you something you enjoy a lot more.

This is a great value purchase! There is a nice medium to full flavor that is mellow and sweetened from age. It can be brewed Gungfu or even better, boiled for several hours to bring out even more depth of flavor. The flavors got better and better with each additional steeping. With just a touch of astringency and the slightest hint of bitter finish the energy it leaves you with A surprisungly is soothing and positive. With 500 grams for this price it could easily become a daily goto brew... even better, buy two and put one away for another 10 years for a really astounding tea for the price.

Tea is ok .. item shipped NOT same as pictured..misleading to my eye / expectations....

The Tea is mediocre and that's all you get. No wooden stand. Just a cardboard box. I see this as false advertising.

I've tried several brands of Pu'er tea and when I tasted this I had my doubts because it didn't taste as strong as the others. The next day I had several bulky bowel movements with absolutely no stomach pain. The other Pu'er teas never did that and I'm thinking it's because they were not legit or good quality Pu'er teas. This tea really had a detoxifying effect on me which I like because I suffer from constipation. This is the most legit brand of Pu'er tea and I will definitely be ordering again. This tea is mild tasting and is not bitter no matter how long you steep it. Definitely recommend this high~best quality Pu'er tea.

Not WORTH IT I DONT RECOMMENDED is all loose and crumbly. Not even close to a good fermented black tea.
